Why is it that a guest ( me ) has to book, arrange full payment for and yet a possible host has twenty four ( 24 ) hours to confirm a booking I am committed to ? Is this realistic ? Is this reasonable ?
Twenty four hours for a host to confirm my booking ? Why so ? I as a guest, seek, find evaluate and pre authorise my payment before a host is notified as to my confirmed booking and they have a full day ( twenty four hours ) to make their mind up ? FFS, get a life Airbnb, hosts have access to our guest profile on Airbnb, booking request details and should be given no more than an hour to respond one way or the other. Appreciate that time differences play a part but this is a business not a play thing.
I have held a Post Box at Postnet, Rondebosch for over twenty years. Their owners are the same today as they were back in 1998 when they opened. A young man by the name of Cameron Robertson joined this outlet and over a number of years worked his way up to now being the Branch Manager. I would wish to commend this fine co soul in the way & sustained manner he provides exceptional, real and valuable business service to many of us who use this facility. I would also strongly recommend their Postnet to Postnet courier facility. My mail departed Cape Town on Monday 28 August 2023 and this morning on Wednesday 30 August 2023 I collected it from Postnet, Glenwood, Durban. Effective and valuable service due to a well run, efficient & customer centric Team. Thank you all & well done. Ciao. Colin J. FRYER.
A huge heads up and Thank You to Woolies Food, Howick, KZN ! I just love my moments within Woolies Food stores. As a traveller within southern Africa, these beacons of fine food, fine souls and fine positioning fully reflect their responsibility within the FMCG game. I purchased a trio of their vegetables ( potato, gem squash & tomatoes ) at a stated discounted rate for all three. This form of presentation is common at Woolies Food and is hugely attractive. Each bag carries a stamp indicating it to be a part of this offering. When I returned home with my Woolies goodies I noted that each of the three items had been charged at the full retail price ( not at the overall discounted price ). The difference in Rand terms between the two was R 36. On further checking I noted that I had selected a Kg of tomatoes that did not reflect the stamp of being part of the deal. My fault for not checking for this stamp. On my next trip to the same Woolies Food I bought up this position as simply a matter of interest with the stores line manager so they would be aware of possible other shoppers experiencing the same happening. They listened intently, checking my presentation and offered their appreciation for this input. As I checked out with my new purchases after yet another wonderful bout of being inspired the cashier indicated that there was a credit of the full amount I had paid for the three ( R 96 ) authorised to be deducted from my new purchases ! Not just the R 36 for the difference between discounted and full retail price but the TOTAL purchase price of R 96 given to me as a credit. This form of resolution response speaks volumes for the way & manner Woolworths conducts their business model, inspires me to support them to the fullest of my ability and needs to be witnessed near & far. Thank you Woolies Food, Howick Line Manager and Team. Ciao. Colin J. FRYER.
In an industry challenged to perform at the highest level day in, night out, you ticked all of the boxes. Swift confirmation, ongoing updates, effective communication and for me the most important aspect of a courier service, doing exactly what you say you will ! Your business model is solid, reliable and as your driver smiled deeply, my cross country ( South Africa ) package arrived within the time frame you indicated. Exceptional belief in your ethos. Thank you & well done. Colin J. FRYER.
