Hellopeter To whom it may concern, I am composing this letter to address a highly distressing experience I have encountered with MTN. My account has been compromised, leading to ****s, and despite ongoing efforts, I have yet to resolve these issues or reach an agreement regarding the disputes. The first incident occurred in November 2025, when 23 subscriptions were added to my home router without my authorization. I have been billed for these subscriptions through January 2026, resulting in an outstanding amount of nearly R10,000. I have contacted MTN via telephone, email, and in person at a store to dispute this bill, but no resolution has been achieved to date. The second incident took place in January 2026, when I received a call from an unknown number claiming to be from the MTN ***** Department. The individual alleged that someone was attempting a SIM swap on my account and requested I provide an OTP to prevent this. After providing the OTP, my MTN app was compromised, and airtime valued at R211.00 was purchased using my XtraTime balance and transferred to another number. This left me with an outstanding balance of R246.30 owed to MTN. I proceeded to the nearest MTN store to report this complaint however, I was advised to obtain an affidavit from the local police to log a ***** case, which I did. I subsequently emailed the MTN ***** Department and followed up but received no response. When I inquired further via telephone, MTN informed me that I was responsible for paying the amount and that the company would not be liable. Currently, my MTN internet service has been suspended pending the resolution of these cases. MTN has advised that service will only be restored once the matter is resolved. This situation is truly unfair, as I require internet access daily for work, educational pursuits, and social interactions. I am left uninformed when my internet service is unavailable, and I am compelled to purchase additional data, incurring extra costs for internet service from MTN. As a loyal customer of over a decade, I have always maintained timely payments and adhered to the contractual agreements. However, these recent incidents have caused me to question my loyalty to the company. It is alarming how easily *****sters can access my MTN account and execute transactions without my consent. I kindly request that Hellopeter assist in addressing this matter, as I believe it is unjust for customers to be held responsible for unauthorized transactions and billing, especially when MTN is aware of such *****ulent activity. Customer service is pathetic, I am communicating online for an exchange and a return for 2 tops bought online but I have not received feedback on my request
