I decided to take up TIG welding and rented a cylinder 17kg from Afrox in 2014, due to various reasons I only managed to empty the cylinder in 2023 and took it and exchanged it for another cylinder. Since then Afrox started charging me for two cylinders rent because they claim I brought in another customer's(third party cylinder), therefor according to them, I still have my old cylinder and now the new cylinder as well. When I complain they keep on sending me messages that the issue have been resolved. It is impossible for me to exchange or confuse cylinders because I only rented one cylinder ever. I do not have contact with any welders or industries, the cylinders was in my garage at home the whole time. I have been saddled with a cylinder I will never be able to return. The only recourse seems to be a legal one
Ordered a iphone 11, cover and screen protector for more than R12000. The iphone was not included in the parcel. Have been through numerous emails with them and two calls to their customer center. No resolution yet. All they say the whole time is than they will investigate the matter at their warehouse. How difficult can that be?
I recently travel to Ibiza from South Africa to attend a multisport event with my son. We decided to travel with British airways because they offer a very good deal when travelling with a racing bike. Everything went very smoothly to Ibiza. When we returned however our we had to transfer at Heathrow to our flight to South Africa. This flight departed almost an hour late because we were waiting for passengers that needed assistance with boarding. I stopped counting at 10, the vast majority of them arrived late at the boarding gate. We allowed 2h for our transfer back at OR Tambo to Bloemfontein which is normally enough but with the delay we just could not make it with the flight at OR Tambo boarding when we arrived at the check in counter. There were no flights available for the rest of that day and as we had to be at work and class the next day we had to rent a car and drive down to Bloemfontein. CemAir did not want to refund us considering us to be a no show and British Airways at OR Tambo said their responsibility ended when we arrived at OR Tambo, the fact that we were late for another airline's flight was not really their problem. I did file a online complaint with British airways about two weeks ago and escalated the complaint since then but sadly with absolutely no response.
I thought to save money and drive up from Bloemfontein to OR Tambo airport to board our international flight there. Trying to do everything by the book I filled up the car at the Engen at OR Tambo and dropped the car at Avis at the airport, Driving just a few hundred meters from the refueling to the drop. When I received my invoice I noticed a refueling service charge of R3652.17 and R60.41 for 2.63 liters of petrol. On complaining to customer service and supplying the refueling slip as evidence they decided graciously to credit me back with R100.42 ignoring the refueling service charge completely. When visiting the local Avis at Bloemfontein they assured me that it was referred to their manager. Nothing happened. After a few days I called Avis customer care and they said I should follow it up with the local branch and the Gauteng branch creating the impression that these are separate entities. I tried the email route, they simply stopped responding( Do not believe the turnaround promise of 24h) The only option left is to open a dispute from my credit card provider. I am just astonished that an international company can stoop so low in admin and customer care . Please only use Avis as a last resort, they seem to have grouped themselves with all the other disreputable car rental companies.
