As part of our Cape Town City Pass website had a free meal at Mariner's Wharf. Got off the bus. In to the restaurant. Showed and told the waiter we are on a city pass. Did not even ask what just turned and ordered. Afterwards we were told we have to pay as it is only at the "Bistro" at the bottom. Said it is our own "stupidity" that we did not read it the brochure. After threatening social media exposure, as they did not want to consider that we told the waiter we had a pass, the manager told me if I want to be vindictive towards them I would have to live with it. Easily the worst experience I have ever had on holiday. Would not suggest Mariner's Wharf and would go as far as to say avoid the Cape Town City Pass as well. Complained to the City Pass first. They just said that the restaurant would not consider my side of events and they hope we enjoy our trip. Be very mindful before supporting this business. Customers definitely do not come first at this establishment. I even said I would pay for a lie detecting test to proof I showed the waiter the Pass. It is sad that visitors to Cape Town get treated this way.
On Sunday 4 June I went to Potchefstroom outlet. The ladie helping me could not care less about me. Did not even look up from her phone to help me. Had to make a scene to get service. Decided to let their Head Office know. Sent Emails. Sent WhatsApps. They did not even bother to respond to my complain. No wonder the staff is so horrible, it comes from the top. Trying to avoid them now...
On Monday 15 May I wanted to order a Kindle for my daughter's birthday. The were a 2021 edition on special with a great R850 saving on it. The moment I wanted to pay it was at full price with no discount on. I contacted Makro and have spend 193min on the phone trying to sort this out. Just to pay the price advertised. My daughter's birthday is on the 24th. By Friday the 19th they said it is sorted out and the item must just be loaded onto my profile. By today, Monday 22 May, nothing has happened. My daughter will have no birthday present on her 13th Birthday in 2 days. And this after Makro said it would be sorted in 48 hours right at the beginning. Blaming the 3rd party supplier.
