Bunch of *********** people. I have sent them emails over the past 2 years to show my late husband's debt to vodacom (under R1000) was settled by the executors of his estate 6 years ago and they keep phoning and sending messages. I have just tried calling them, both calls dropped. Useless bunch
Our estate attorneys have been trying to close my late father in law's accounts with ABSA for over 6 months and keep being told there is a backlog. This is holding up the whole process of winding up his estate and causing my mother in law undue stress. I don't understand what the hold up is. I could walk in and close my account quite easily, so I don't see the difference if the attorney comes with all the documentation, death certificate, letter of executorship etc why it is taking so long!
My son was registered as a distance learner. The first semester was fine, although going to write his exams was hair raising. It is in a terrible area, with druggies & hoodlums all around. The 2nd semester was a shambles. Long story short, he registered, we paid in full, he didn't complete the course or write the exams. Yesterday, 2 years down the line, I get a message saying we owe R1500 as, according to them, he was registered as a full time student. After much heated discussion, I asked the person to send me the signed form showing that he was registered as full time... Oh, he doesn't have that information, and will have to get hold of another department to get it, in the meantime I must pay the outstanding amount! I think not! Would not recommend anyone enroll with them.
My father in law was in hospital from September 2023 until February 2024. He had numerous blood tests done daily. Lancet submitted with wrong codes to medical aid, so they were rejected. We have been phoning constantly to try and get everything sorted out, and get told "we can't speak to you because of the POPI act". He is now in a frail care facility, would not know what tests had been done or when, has no idea of his medical aid number or scheme for that matter and some days doesn't even know who he is nevermind anyone else. My mother in law has been paying shortfalls whenever we find them and haven't been able to get medical aid to sort them out. We received a statement yesterday, showing a R0.00 balance and today she is called by a debt collector saying she has been handed over for R50! Again calls and gets the POPI act thrown at her. She is 81yrs old, had the stress of having her husband in hospital for over 5 months, not knowing if he was ever going to leave and now has this threat over her head for R50! His blood tests alone came to over R100,000. They are married in community of property, Lancet is very happy to take her money, but refused to help her when she asks for an invoice pertaining to the amount owing. Just ridiculous!
My mother had a non resident account with Standard Bank for over 40yrs. She left the title deeds for her property in their safe keeping. She passed away last year and the lawyers dealing with her estate have been given the run around trying to locate the title deeds in order to settle the estate and no one seems to be able to give any answers!
