As a parent who shelled out R325 for a full-year membership thinking it would give my children everything needed to succeed, especially with those looming November exams, I am absolutely furious. E-Classroom markets itself as this comprehensive online learning haven for South African students, but it's nothing more than a bait-and-switch **** dressed up in educational jargon. You pay up front for what they call "unlimited access" to worksheets, memos, and resources, only to discover that all the truly essential stuff—the meat and potatoes for end-of-year prep—is locked behind additional paywalls. It's like buying a car and then finding out the engine is an "added extra" you have to fork over more cash for. Unbelievable! Let's start with the membership itself. For that R325 (or whatever inflated price they're charging now), you get a bunch of basic worksheets that feel like they were slapped together by someone who skimmed the CAPS curriculum five minutes before uploading. For the money spent, you'd expect polished, in-depth materials that actually help build understanding—not these half-baked printouts that look like freebies from a decade ago. We've wasted hours trying to make sense of sections, only to end up supplementing with YouTube videos and actual textbooks. What a joke for "premium" content! But the real kicker? Those all-important end-of-year study preparations for the November exams. E-Classroom teases you with promises of exam prep, but when you dig in, you realize every single past paper, model exam, or targeted revision pack is classified as an "added extra." You have to pay extra in-app for each one—sometimes R50 to R80 a pop! How is that fair? I bought the membership specifically for exam season, thinking it would cover everything from term reviews to full mock tests. Instead, it's a nickel-and-dime operation that withholds the key tools you need right when stakes are highest. Ive left scrambling in October, stressed out because the "included" resources barely scratched the surface of what shows up in real exams. If you're prepping for Novembers, don't bother; this platform is designed to squeeze every last rand out of desperate parents. Honestly, E-Classroom feels like a predatory business model preying on families who just want to support their kids' education. The interface is clunky, customer support is like pulling teeth, someone behind the phone sounded absolutley bored to death and not really interested, and the whole experience leaves you feeling cheated. Save your money and go for free resources on sites like the DBE website or even Khan Academy—they're more comprehensive without the hidden fees. I give E-Classroom 1 star out of 5, and that's being generous. Avoid at all costs!
Let me preface this by saying we expected better from Teneo, an educational platform that prides itself on "putting students first." Unfortunately, our experience has been anything but. In our attempt to simply communicate (a seemingly impossible feat), we've encountered a wall of frustrating silence. For 45 minutes yesterday, my husband sat online, staring at a blank Zoom screen, waiting for someone, anyone, from Teneo to appear. This morning, I optimistically tried again, enduring another 20 minutes of radio silence. This is abysmal. Is this Teneo's idea of "student support"? All we've requested is basic communication, and that seems to be a monumental task for your team. Is reaching a human being a privilege at Teneo, reserved for select students? This persistent lack of communication is unacceptable. It reflects poorly on your platform and is frankly detrimental to the learning experience. How can you claim to offer quality education when the first hurdle is an impenetrable wall of silence? I will not be recommending Teneo to anyone. In fact, I urge potential students to consider platforms that value communication and respect their time. This is not the way to run an educational platform.
Dear Quicket Management, I had to write to you, to let you know that I have had the most sensational customer experience with Liam. His willingness and phone manner were calming and super helpful. Also, his advice allowed me to better manage my booking and for that I am thankful. Keep doing a great job Liam, you are a great man. I hope ONLY the best in life comes your way 😊 Blessings Nix
