I am deeply concerned about the ongoing lack of action from SPCA Kroonstad when it comes to reported cases of animal neglect and abuse. Over time, I have laid multiple complaints regarding dogs being kept without adequate water, in poor conditions, and clearly not receiving proper care. Each time, I am given assurances that the matter will be “looked into” or that “action will be taken.” Yet nothing meaningful ever changes. Not one complaint I have submitted has resulted in real intervention or protection for the animals involved. What is especially troubling is the pattern I keep seeing. When an animal rescue is highly visible or makes for good publicity, there are posts, photos, and public praise. But when it comes to less visible cases...dogs quietly suffering, tied up, neglected, or without water those cases appear to be dismissed or declared “fine,” even when evidence suggests otherwise. In my own cases, I was told animals were in “excellent condition,” despite clear proof showing the opposite. I have documentation and evidence to support this. This raises very serious questions about how assessments are being done, and whether complaints are being handled objectively at all. It also raises another concern: does the fact that I am the one laying the complaints influence how seriously they are taken? Because from my experience, once my name is attached, nothing moves forward. That is extremely worrying. I have also escalated concerns beyond the local SPCA, yet the response feels like the issue is simply being pushed aside rather than properly investigated. This creates the impression that complaints are being quietly closed instead of addressed. This is not about personal conflict. This is about accountability, transparency, and animal welfare. Dogs without water or proper care should never be written off as “fine.” That is not protection. That is neglect. So I am asking, publicly and respectfully: Why does SPCA Kroonstad continue to get away with inaction? Why are documented complaints not taken seriously? Why are some rescues celebrated while others are ignored? And who is actually ensuring oversight when concerns are raised? Animal welfare in South Africa deserves better than silence, deflection, or selective enforcement. I am prepared to provide evidence to support my statements and I am asking for proper investigation and accountability.

You left a 27-year-old mother of two to die. A young woman with cervical cancer, who still had a fighting chance. She was meant to start radiation. Instead, you ignored obvious signs of a collapsed lung, blue fingertips, low oxygen, visible distress and you did nothing You didn't even realize what was happening. You gave up on her before she gave up on herself. And now two children are growing up without their mother, because you decided she wasn’t worth saving This wasn’t just a mistake. This was neglect. She was still alert. She called her family the day before And you let her die Absolutely shameful. You failed her, and you failed her family
Hello My complaint is about the Kroonstad SPCA. I called them at 11 am yesterday (Friday) regarding a dog that needed help—obviously, it wasn’t my dog. They responded by saying they would send someone immediately. I also sent a message to another lady who is on the SPCA board, and she assured me they were on their way, so I went about my day, knowing the dog, who had blood coming from her nose and couldn't walk, was being taken care of. Unfortunately, around 3 pm, my neighbor informed me that the dog was still there, unable to walk and falling when trying to get up. I called the SPCA again at 3 pm on a Friday and couldn’t get through to anyone for an hour. Finally, the inspector showed up at 7 pm, hours later. The inspector told the lady to inform me that the dog was "running around"—which was very strange, as my neighbor, who doesn't own a car and couldn’t take the dog, and I, who was home alone with my daughter, had visited the dog 11 times on Friday, and each time, the dog couldn’t get up. They informed me that the dog was absolutely fine. The next morning (Saturday), my neighbor went out to check on the dog again, and she was still not walking. I called the SPCA again and told them that they clearly had the wrong dog or that the inspector gave them the wrong information. They sent the inspector again, and suddenly, after 24 hours of suffering, the dog was euthanized. Apparently, the dog had distemper. I was obviously very emotional and told the SPCA that someone didn’t do their job. The lady’s only concern, however, was her car, which got damaged on the gravel roads. She didn’t seem to care that a dog had just died. Then the inspector called me, extremely rude, asking why I didn’t help the dog. He couldn’t even keep his story straight, switching between saying the dog had parvo or distemper. He was more concerned about me saying he didn’t do his job. They were also extremely arrogant and told me I should go ahead and file a complaint against them. They sounded confident that nothing would come of it. Please tell me, did this dog’s suffering go unnoticed? Did it mean nothing? I would really love to hear from you. Best regards, Marga
I had the absolute worst experience with FNB. It's been a week, numerous phone calls. Did a Payshap payment on 19 December, the money was deducted from my account but the payment failed. The secure chat is absolutely useless as they keep sending me to another department to help. They don't even deserve the one star as nobody contacted me for a whole week to help me resolve this.
The worst service I received! Did a payment yesterday through FNB the money was deducted from my account but on Payshap it shows transaction failed, the beneficiary also did not receive the money. Did contact the bank a few times and have not received any help just rudeness and told me it's my problem as on the system it shows the transaction went through. I will never use Payshap again and now I don't even know if my money is safe in my account. The representatives are extremely rude and was of no help. Me and my partner both have accounts with FNB and both our businesses too, I just took out life insurance and honestly I feel like I can't trust the bank and this is how I've been treated I really don't want to use this bank anymor3
