Dishonest seller. Item was advertised as in stock and “ready to ship within 5 days.” After 8 days I followed up, only to be told they have no stock — yet the item is still listed as available. I requested a cancellation and refund (this was meant as a Christmas gift) and have been completely ignored. At this point it feels like my money has simply been taken. Avoid this seller
Tiaan from Doux Plumbing comes across as a decent guy and a good salesman, but unfortunately, the quality of work delivered by his team fell far short of expectations. There were several issues, ranging from basic mistakes—like switching the hot and cold water taps—to more serious concerns, such as failing to properly waterproof the electrical joining boxes for the gas geyser. We immediately flagged this problem with Tiaan by sending photos on the day of installation, clearly showing the poor workmanship and raising concerns about potential moisture damage. He assured us that someone would come out the next day to fix it, but no one showed up. As we feared, rain caused moisture to get into the boxes, tripping the entire house’s power and damaging the breaker. When we contacted Tiaan again, he said he could only attend to it in the afternoon—leaving us without power for most of the day. As we work from home, this was not just inconvenient but completely unacceptable. Given the avoidable nature of these issues and the lack of urgency in addressing them, I cannot recommend Doux Plumbing. Reliable workmanship and proper follow-up are critical in this industry, and sadly, they fell short on both.
I’ve been a loyal Vodacom customer for over 10 years with a spotless payment record, and yet I’m being penalized for staying loyal. I recently tried to upgrade my phone contract and was shocked to learn that the exact same package is R40 cheaper for new customers than it is for existing customers like me. When I asked if I could just take the new contract and port my number over, I was told that’s not allowed either. So let me get this straight: a brand new customer with no payment history can get a better deal than a long-time customer who has never missed a payment? How does that make any sense? Vodacom clearly values new sign-ups more than loyal customers. This experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth, and I’m seriously considering switching to another provider that actually rewards loyalty.
I’m extremely disappointed and angry about the service received from Duncan Logistics and would not recommend that anyone use them. I have a few issues with them: 1. I gave Duncan an inventory list of the items I needed to move, after which he sent me a invoice for a 5 ton truck, which seemed sufficient because there is a lot of big furniture that I needed to move, however the truck that Duncan sent on Saturday was not a 5 ton truck but rather a 4 ton truck and it would not have been sufficient for all the items on the inventory list. We called Duncan to ask that he please correct this and send the truck that we were paying for, at which point he got very arrogant, and defensive and refused to deliver the service we were invoiced for. So Duncan invoiced us for a more expensive service and tried to give us a cheaper service and pocket the difference, in essence steeling from us. As Duncan broke contract due to noncompliance of services agreed upon, we asked his driver to leave. 2. This is where my second problem comes in, the driver could not even move the truck out of our driveway because it did not want to start, and upon further inspection we realized the truck was not roadworthy, the back numberplate was not visible, the back taillights were broken and the truck did not even have a license disk. So yes, after we asked them to leave they came back to us in a while and said that Duncan said they can do two trips, but after seeing the sorry state of the truck I did not feel safe to put all my late mothers belongings in their truck. 3. Duncan now refuses to refund my deposit saying that the contract signed says that he is entitled to keep it, although upon inspection of his terms and conditions it states that he is allowed to keep 30% of what was paid, I pointed this out to him and he still refuses stating that he already spent the money.
