I got ********** for R625. I got my bank to refund me after I proved that they had ignored my attempts to contact them, but they debited my account again on the 4th of January 2026! It shows as a point-of-sale transaction, but that's impossible, since they're in Johannesburg and I'm in Cape Town. To me that proves unequivocally that they are *******. By the way, their website now says "coming soon."
I ordered a replacement part for a game console back in October. More than a month later I'm out more than 500 Rand, have no item, and cannot contact the company. Clearly these people are ****mers and should be avoided at all costs.
Signed up for a policy and canceled it after one week. The iphone app that I was supposed to use to do an inspection on my vehicle crashed every time I tried to use it. I was unable to log into my profile on their website it gave an error every time. I sent several emails asking for assistance and never got any reply. What I did get, however, three times, were calls trying to upsell me to additional products. I don't know about you, but I have a policy of not doing business with companies that are this ***********.
Not that it'll make any difference, but like pretty much everyone else who reviews DSTV here, my experience is abysmal. I subscribe to DSTV streaming. Occasionally I have problems with The apps on various devices including an Android set top box and my iphone. this morning, I haven't been able to log in at all. It keeps telling me that my credentials were incorrect even though I haven't changed them. I tried resetting my password, but every time I do that the website gives me an error message. But then I get an email confirming that the password has been changed successfully. But I still can't log in on any device. There what's up chat is absolutely useless, since no one responds. I managed to get through to somebody on their website chat, but after asking me a bunch of pointless questions over a period of 30 minutes, during which he was clearly attending to other customers at the same time, he finally gave up and said "I don't know what's going on try later." This company has an effective monopoly on streaming of South African content come up including sports. I pay for the top to your package but the customer service is just horrific. I had to give up trying to change my debit order information and pay manually because their customer service people just couldn't understand what I was asking them to do. They kept asking me to give credit card details over the chat log, when I wanted to set up a debit order. Of course, like any monopoly, DSTV will be able to get away with this until somebody else enters the market and upset their cozy little situation.
