I’ve been living at Riverside for close to a year now, and although the scenery is amazing and the (mostly) peace and quiet is compelling, I absolutely cannot recommend entering into a lease agreement here. The receptionist is rude with no accountability, and customer service from reception or “admin” is non-existent. I moved in last year July I believe, with the privacy fence rotting into pieces. I was told it would be fixed soon after moving in, but only half was replaced about 2weeks to month after moving in. Months went by with me mailing “reception” with no response, not even acknowledgment of my mail. Nothing. I finally decided to physically go to the receptionist because I’d never met her and mentioned that it’s been months, when is the rest of my fence being replaced (because I have a cat and I didn’t want to keep him permanently inside) and she said something to the degree of the maintenance guy probably ran out of stock (which is hilarious, because how does it take months to get reed fencing, I see it all the time on the side of the road whilst riding through Harties), but I said fine, although I haven’t even received acknowledgement or receipt of my mail and she said something to the degree of “yes well we have around 300 residents”, making it sound like everyone is constantly mailing her. Well, if everyone is, then obviously nothing’s getting resolved and you’re doing a pretty **** job. I think the remainder of my fence was replaced in November. Hilarious. I have lost track of how many months ago, but I reported that my toilet is leaking, and then I mentioned it looks like it’s the cistern, as well as the water thing outside. I sent a mail or two about both of those also with no acknowledgement and no response. Aside from that, I also have a little outside eating area with a stone table and four chairs, which has a thatch roof (I mean.. it’s supposed to). This was obviously an added bonus when considering the rental, although to this day, not one single word has been mentioned about the replacement of the thatch roof on that. (I have also mentioned it though, before year and last year). Each one of these things aside from my ceiling leaking on the inside, I’ve also sent through a specific “maintenance request” which can be requested on your monthly invoice. Obviously after you’ve now read this review of mine, you may deduce that it’s absolutely a worthless feature. Interestingly enough, sometime last week I mentioned almost all of these things to the absolutely amazing lady who showed me the property, and she was livid that I’d received such horrible service. Well, technically you’re supposed to actually receive service to consider it horrible, in which case I’ve received nothing. Only since CC’ing her last week in my follow-up mails have I finally received a response from “management” or “admin”. The response wasn’t apologetic or accepting any fault for lack of service, lack of response, or even to give me another excuse. No. The response I received was: “Good day Thank you for your email When are you availability Mon to Friday between 08h30 to 15h30.” I sent back a lengthy email, further clarifying my disgust, as I had actually previously stated in a former email that I am seriously considering getting in touch with body corporate and/or the actual owner of the property. That in itself fell on deaf ears. Possibly though because I’ve been told by a few residents that the owner doesn’t give a sh#t. And it shows. After my newest lengthy email exercising my disgust, I received an email back but in no way in the form of an apologetic response from the receptionist. Instead there was no accountability, no acceptance of fault, I was told that she had apparently logged >whatever< “as shown in the photo” (no evidence attached), I was told that regarding the toilet leaking I was supposed to have given an availability period (which I did, based on the aforementioned useless maintenance request app) and I stated again that’s all nonsense, because she’s lying and dodging honest answers, not accepting responsibility and not admitting they messed up. Hilariously, my phone told me that the mail was quickly recalled. To be more specific, my email service said “admin@egpd.co.za would like to recall the message, "Maintenance Request for:…”. I absolutely love this area for many reasons, don’t misunderstand me. Though regardless of everything else positive, I could never recommend that anyone seek residency here. I’ve demanded the contact details of the owner and/or the body corporate of the estate. I’ll update here what happens next.
Vodacom you have just *****ed me over so badly for January. I’m horrified. I wrote in another review that I was given an ultimatum for account in arrears and must settle or arrange within 7 days, then 3 days later my lines were shut down and I called to make an arrangement, which was on the 12th of December. The arrangement was for my account to be lengthened with 6 months, in lieu of me paying the outstanding amount over 6 months prepaid, meaning I had to pay for my own data and airtime etc. The amount would have been around R700 p.m. I said that’s great, thank you for the help, and could you please put that then on a debit order? The lady said a debit order mandate would come through within 24 hours. It never did. Today the entire amount has been debited, UNLIKE DISCUSSED. I’m so *****ed for January now, Vodacom. I can’t afford food or transportation, and my other debit orders are going to dig a hole.
So I’ve been a loyal Vodacom customer for many, many years. I’ve literally never been with any other provider since my first phone, firstly. Recently I’ve had some financial difficulties with my salary cut in half, where I now missed two months of debit orders, but then for the next two months I’ve been making normal payments again for my account. Right before I continued making the payments, I was told I need to urgently make a payment or risk having my line cut off. After I continued making payments, I was left alone and never bothered again, until now. 3 days ago on the 9th, I received an email saying I have 7 days to settle my outstanding amount, which is around R2800.00, or risk having my line cut, and then I will be handed over to Vodacom’s legal department. Over R2.8k?? No call asking “how can we help?”, because I have a vehicle financed through Wesbank and they did actually call me about the same thing asking “ are you okay? Can we come to an arrangement?” I hadn’t had the time these past few days to call Vodacom I’ve been extremely busy at work, was me being extremely tired working six days a week. Today, on the 3rd day of Vodacom’s ultimatum, I get not one but two SMS’s telling me “outgoing call bar has been activated” and then immediately my network was turned off. Hilariously, literally two minutes later I get an SMS telling me “ Vodacom: Well done! You've earned 64.3 VodaBucks, that's 30% more as a Gold Tier customer just for paying your monthly bill.” I then called Vodacom over all of this and was first cut off when I’d verified myself, and then managed to speak to a consultant who managed to help me sort out a deal. Right after that though, I got a mail saying “ Your payment for R x ***.xx has not been received. Your Vodacom Services will be disconnected with immediate effect if no payment is received.” Vodacom I hope you wake the f#ck up because I don’t know if you’ve been reading these reviews, but you’re losing customers because of **** like this. Once my contract is over, I’m switching to a different provider. I’m sick and tired of this.
Sometime last year late August I had a crash, and early September my bike was taken to JMD in Kempton Park for repairs. That’s when the horror began. I waited months for my bike to be returned, spending thousands of rands on uber, only to receive my bike back only half fixed. Still skew with a bent clutch lever, my fuel injection briefly acted up, my rear brake lever separated itself after locking up, my headlight was skew, and the issues were plenty. The bike was taken back for “repairs” AGAIN, only to be returned with a new problem. They forgot to re-fit the cover on my top steering bearing. I half kicked up a storm it seems because KP’s management reached out and before long arrangements were made. I had to fight for a courtesy car though, even though KP’s sub-par backyard mechanics messed up continuously, inconveniencing me and putting my life in danger. But it was sorted. “Sorted”. Recently I realised another issue, but I don’t care anymore about their “help”. I wrote a review involving said motorcycle “repairers” on Hellopeter, and at first they reported my review as false, but with proof of events it then remained on their website. Who then goes and claims my review is nonsense? The same KP representative or “Motorcycle claims Assessor”, saying “We have never had any accountability issues. Yes, they sometimes do make mistakes, but they always own up to it and fix whatever needs fixing.” And “Their knowledge is unmatched and their clients always comes first. Please don't let negative reviews fool you.” The absolute gaul to do something like that after my experience. DISGUSTING. I hope the owner of KP reads this and feels the same churn in their stomach as me.
Sometime early September last year my bike was taken here for assessment and repairs, the feedback of the assessment seemed to take forever. Finally I was notified that my bike's repairable, great. Great? After weeks upon weeks and then month after month, chasing and following up, I finally get my bike back. Great and all, but first I wasn't given back my fuel, the bike still felt skew, rode skew, my clutch lever was still bent and my gear lever also still bent to a point where it kept getting stuck on a bolt whilst I'm trying to downshift. With this, months later when riding in the dark for the first time in a while, I discovered my headlight is pointing down and left, even though the brackets were apparently replaced. During this, I keep hearing a shearing/s****ing noise from the front wheel, which I initially thought was the wheel bearings. A few weeks later or however long, my rear brake locks up (the lever only, not the caliper) and then it dismantles itself, leaving me with no rear brake. Months later, I finally manage to hand in the bike back to them for repairs, again. They replaced the clutch lever, fixed the rear brake, sorted the skew headlight, discover the shearing noise I hear from the front wheel is actually the brake disc which was bent and wasn't noticed before/ picked up, and then bent the forks or whatever straight again. Some time later, I discover yet again a massive, massive issue. Somehow the dust cover for my steering bearings had been left off or forgotten, causing the bearings to gunk up with dust and crud. I decided to kick up a storm with my insurance to get it sorted because I was fed up. Earlier this week I discovered two dents on my left fork tube, interestingly in exactly the same spot on opposite sides of the tube indicating it was clamped down, which I hadn't noticed before. That said, l'd not trust them to fix it, lest I receive my bike back with a new issue, again. I commend Rosie for what she has to deal with and for how hard she tried to help me, but l'd steer clear of this shop. I definitely don't recommend even considering their services.
Great help, quick to respond and no-nonsense service.
They were great at first, but we quickly had a nightmare to deal with. My partner was bul**** and harassed. Very *********. Not to say all the employees ate at fault, but I cannot tolerate bullying.
Due to how this business harassed my partner, I’m posting this under an alternative name to protect them from further harassment, but this needs to be heard. This company came across as lovely and helpful at first, but we quickly got a wake-up call. This company harassed and bul**** my partner for standing up against horrible service and was met with name calling, belittlement and harassment. Friends and family have pledged never to engage with them ever again. Do yourself a favour and stay far away from them.
