We were ****med by Lucinda and Gerard from La Vie Rose and Grace and Timber. They took R5,400 from me for two chairs that I never received. They previously did two small jobs for me on my furniture and mirror, and also sold me cushions, which I was allowed to pay for afterwards. With the last job, however, I was asked to pay 50% upfront and the balance a few weeks later so that they could collect the chairs from the upholsterer, as they claimed they did not have enough money to pay the upholsterer themselves. After I made the payment, they suddenly stopped answering my calls and messages. When they eventually responded, they gave us delivery dates and times, but they never arrived. This happened three times, with the delivery times being changed each time. They then sent me a photo of a couch, claiming it was ours. It is clearly a picture taken from Google and is not at all what we ordered. After that, they said the second couch was almost finished, then later said the second couch still needed to be started. At that point, it was clear that I had been ****med and could no longer trust them. I asked for my money back, but they refused. They then sent me a **** proof of payment. I am sending it to Standardbank ans Absa ***** department. The money never showed in my bank account. These people are experienced. All of these facts can be proven and supporting evidence is available on request.
According to the call centre they do not want to deactivate my account effective 30 June, because they say the router and extenders were not returned. It WAS collected on 12 June 2025 by CCD. Reference rnc 466065. My reference for my query at the call centre is 35416123. I spoke to someone this evening and he was busy helping me, then the call was disconnected. He did not phone me back. Everytime you are say you are going to phone then you don't. It must be at least ten times now. You must disconnect my account and refund me R2000. They took R809 on 30 May, R809 on 2 June and R415 2 July extra from my bank account. I want my refund asap. My nr is 072 378 9683 and 069 523 5255. Nicolene Erasmus
Cemlink Construction does substandard work. They have build 4 Nutec class rooms at my school. They installed windows and PVC floors for all 4 of the class rooms. Just after I paid them the last amount, the floors started showing bubbles. After investigation we found that the PVC was glued directly on the wooden beams and De Wet did not install a floor under the PVC to ensure a surface that the PVC floors would stick to properly and which would deliver a smooth surface so that there would be no bubbles. The quality of the PVC is very bad, it is also very thin. The glue was not app**** correctly. They tried to fix the bubbles with a staple gun. The floors look horrible and De Wet le Roux, the owner of Cemlink does not want to fix or replace the PVC blocks. It is also a safety hazard for our learners. He ignores our calls, WhatsApps and emails. Not even a Letter of Demand or lawyer's letter can get him to fix the floors or replace the window frames that we found out later that they were not SABS approved and not allumminium as stated on the quote and invoice. The same with the PVC blocks. He says the bubbles on the floors and the substandard window frames are not his fault and he will not fix it. I feel I should warn other people about this contractor that niw operates as Nutec Homes and Timber Structures South Africa as well. I have proof of the above statements. I am reporting them.also to the National Consumer Commission and NHBRC.
Cemlink Construction, De Wet Le Roux. You did a job at our school and to sum up. You took all our money and left us with floors that make bubbles. It looks awful and we had to do our price giving on floors that really look ugly. Our window frames and the clips are wobbly and definetely not SABS approved or allumminium as on the invoice. Come and fix the floors and window frames or give us back our money. This is not the way to treat a school or even any customer. Please look at the facts mentioned, before you do business with Cemlink, especially if you are a school. They ignore your phone calls, make false promises and lots of lots of excuses. They ignore lawyers letters. They ignore the fact that I am reporting them to the National Consumer Regulatorband the South African Building Assosiation. De Wet le Roux does not care.
Unreliable platform to get safe accomodation. If there is a dispute, they only email the accomodation and they go with whatever they say and do not side with the customer. They accept anyone on their platform, even if the accomodation is unsafe and they have been made aware of it. Anything goes on Booking.Com. Rather go with another platform for secure and reliable booking. On Booking.Com you do not get what you book and pay for. I am referring to this complaint that they are unable to get my refund for. Complaint: Umkomaas Lodge Please find detail of complaint: 1) Parking space limited and unsafe. No gate. Tenants have to move their cars when they want to drive somewhere. Security guard is not on duty 24 hours and unarmed. Vehicles are not safe and risk is high. Insurance will not cover this risk for vehicle. 2) No hot water in kitchen or bathroom basin. 3) No plugs in basins. 4) Unsafe and unmarked step from kitchen to room 5) Toilet is in shower. Wet and unsafe to go to toilet. 6) ****roaches in room 7) Two single beds in stead of double bed. Hurts your back when you sleep 8) No aircon 9) Room not as on photo's on Booking.Com 10) Swimming pool can't be used and tide pool and braai facilities are unkept and does not look good. 11) Building is unkept and does not look good. Had to leave accomodation second day and find other accomodation that is safer for my vehicle and Umkomaas Lodge do not want to refund me.

Unprofessional management. Quotes are incorrect. On the day the site is visited, they promise to do the job a certain way and then afterwards they say that it was not included in the quote and you have to pay extra if you still want to it to be done. They threaten to not carry on with a job if a progress payment is not paid immediately, even if the work has not progressed. They also threaten to leave rubble on pavement if they do not get their way. They find excuses not to do certain parts of the job, even though they did quote on it. They leave the site, leaving the pavement messy and full of sand. They do not leave a site foreman on site as promissed. People working for them are dangerous, as recorded on CCTV camera.
When a problem arises management withdraw their services to take the easy way out. Unfortunately owner withdrew services before they could pay the full amount that I wanted to claim from them. Therefor full commitment was not honoured. Only R1066 was paid for a much bigger amount that was due on damaged caused to our big sliding door with expensive artwork on. That with using their weat eater incorrectly and not telling us about the damage done. Footage can be supplied of the incident.
