Being less than 5 months with 1st for women. I have cancelled 4 policies with them 1.Building cover 2.motor vehicle cover. 3.house hold contents cover 4.trailer cover Reason for cancellation. I lodged a claim on 10 February 2026 in respect of faulty solar system..A service provider quoted around R3500 to have the solar up and running The service provider wanted around R2500 excess from me before a date can be set for the repairs . I did raise concerns about payment of excess before the repair work could be commence .After much deliberation I informed the insurer that I'm willing to pay excess to the service provider before repair work can commences . I made alot of calls the the insurer . almost every Day On 5th March 2026 Tanya Jansen van Rensburgh from the dispute Resolution department promised to arrange with service provider to complete repairs. i also informed her that I am willing to pay excess in advance. A second call was made on 10 of March 2026. Tanya Jansen van Rensburgh informed me she's sending an email to service provider to sort my solar . To date I'm without solar power. poor service or no service. Will not recommend. The definitely not 1st
My vehicle was sent to renew it Mont Edgecombe for rear damage via Auto n General. There were repairs. There were further repairs done to the front fendors and bonnet paid me. Renew it called me 4 times. Saying my vehicle is ready for collection. On all 4 times my vehicle repair was incomplete and had more damages caused by renew it. Today Friday. The 7th of November 2025 was the last of the 4. I was forced to pay. I took possession of my vehicle to avoid leaving it there for another minute. Their actions clearly shows that I was victimised. I would not recommend Renew it.
After more than 10 years I have canceled one of my policy. effective 1st November 2025 due to bad service from a consultant tasked to monitor my motor vehicle rear damage The consultant was not cooperative and not understanding. I'm in the process of cancelling another Auto n General policy in respect of the same claim. This time due to the assessors actions and the repairers actions and workmanship
I am a client of Auto and General for approximately 15 years. I have my car. House and household contents insured with them. On 11 November 2024. I informed Auto and General that I had a burst water pipe. Seeing that I received no help on the 11 th of November 24. I called the next day and spoke to Maggie Govender a consultant at Auto and General. She was very helpful and easy to communicate with. She explained to me the process and sorted my claim without any issues. I hope more consultant be the same.
This is First time I called budget warranty to request assistance with my motor vehicle breakdown. The consultant Maite was very clear and helpful in registering my claim.
