I approached AG Jenkins in early 2024 with a legal issue and was assigned to attorney Nikita Naidoo. I don't expect lawyers to know everything but I do expect a lawyer to conform to the following minimum criteria: 1. Return phone calls 2. Send written advice, not just verbal. Initially, I was getting this quality but, after a few months, the quality collapsed drastically to the point where calls and e-mails were not being answered. Very bad service from this firm. I had to move away from this firm and find another law firm that could help me.
I bought a Santorini High-back Chair from Makro Centurion in October 2023. Around June 2024, the chair started to sink. Since the chair came with a one year warranty, I handed the chair to Makro Centurion in September 2024 to send in to the manufacturer for repairs. I picked up the chair from Makro on 15 October 2024 and, once I brought it back home, I sat on it and noticed that it was too low for me. Makro mentioned that the manufacturer replaced the gas cylinder. I phone Makro national call center and they put me through to Makro Centurion. Centurion said they would get back to me urgently - they haven't. It cost me time and money to drive up and down to Makro to drop off the chair and pick it up. I am so angry that I have called a chair repar company, (Xeptor Chair Technologies) that helped out earlier this year with another chair, to repair my chair at my own cost. Very disappointed, makro!
Used EEZI Move to move some personal effects (boxes, several plastic containers containing books and magazines, a toy chest, a desk) from my late mum's house in Durban to my storage unit in Pretoria. 1. They were super prompt (an hour EARLY in both cases). 2. Packed my stuff carefully in the pre-ordered bubble wrap and boxes and were done within 45 minutes. 3. Delivered all my items, as listed on the manifest, within 5 calendar days. Nothing was missing, nothing was opened by them and the condition of the goods was exactly as it was picked up. I was extremely nervous planning this relocation project, due to all the horror stories you hear about relocation of goods, but this project went off smoothly due to the amazing folk at EEZI Move. Tips for Ensuring a Smooth Relocation 1. Take pictures of the items you want to move. 2. Measure the dimensions of the items you want to move. 3. When completing all of EEZI Move's forms, send them your pictures so that they can see exactly what needs to be moved and advise the correct packaging solutions. Their website and service does not work properly. https://www.verifi.co.za/ 1. Their website sends out an OTP that is not received by the mobile number. 2. They e-mail the detailed report that is password-protected and they forget to provide the password. 3. You have to complete a form and e-mail them for assistance. So much for automation.
I placed an order with Takealot on Friday, 24 November 2023, while I was away on business in Cape Town. On Sunday, 26 November 2023, I received a phone call from the delivery guy that they were at my home in Pretoria. I told them that I was still in Cape Town and would be back home the following day (Monday). He said the order would then be delivered on Monday. Fast forward to the end of the day, Tuesday 28 November, and STILL no delivery. I spoke to THREE people at Takealot and no luck with them. My order details are as follows: Order #140933425 ORDERED 24 NOV 2023 PAID 24 NOV 2023 Dear Takealot, please call me on 083 301 5875 to resolve this matter URGENTLY.
My hearing aids cost R70,000 in total. My Discovery Health medical aid plan (Classic Comprehensive) annual provision for hearing aids only went up to R28,200. The balance had to be paid by me. I app**** to Discovery for a special claim for the balance to be deducted from my medical savings account. I received a letter on 20 September 2023 saying that the application was APPROVED and that the money would be in my account within 2 - 3 working days. I checked on the 26th - nothing, 27th - nothing, 28th - nothing. It took a month of calls directly to Discovery Health as well as through my employer's wellness brokers to FINALLY get my money. They deposited it on Friday, 13 October 2023. They forgot to the deposit after verifying my bank account details. I want to commend Emmanuel Tembe, who works at the call center, for proactively phoning me every day to keep me updated and escalating my query to their Finance and other departments for urgent assistance. One of the people he escalated the query to was Thulile Zondi (senior consultant - Discovery KZN) who, just like Emmanuel, treated my case with urgency and kept me updated daily to the point that the problem was resolved. Without these two amazing people assisting me, it would have been financially detrimental for me to settle my bill with the audiologist. I am an FNB LoC policyholder. I signed up because the service was promoted as 24/7. When I phoned the number 087 736 7773 on Saturday, 02 September 2023, at 17h01, I got sent to voicemail. Disgusting! I expect a lawyer to be available 24/7 as advertised.
I submitted my faulty hard drive to Tecleo on 08 April 2022. They repaired the read/write head on the drive multiple times but, after many attempts and persistence, in February 2023 they had to close the project as the internal drive structure was far more damaged than initially thought. Seeing as how easy it is to fall into the 1% that a professional data recovery lab cannot recover data for, I invested heavily in the "prevention is better than the cure" strategy by employing 1 cloud backup (dropbox) and 3 external SSD backups of my production data. Now, I do triple backups every day to avoid what happened last year as professional data recovery is not guaranteed to get you out of a tight spot. My sincere thanks to Tyrone at TDRL for his persistence and trying everything including referring the matter to Ace Labs, TDRL's software recovery app vendor, for assistance. By all means, give them a try but first invest heavily in a personal backup strategy of multiple backups to avoid the process of professional data recovery. - Pramodh
Background 1. I signed up with Afrihost on 30 June 2022 for their 40MB/s DSL service. The information on their website mentioned it would take approximately 14 days to get connected. 2. On day 11, Monday, 18 Jul 2022, I started phoning Afrihost to create a sense of urgency as no one from their subcontractor Openserve contacted me yet. I phoned everyday until two technicians from Openserve showed up on day 14 to connect my DSL line and get me connected to the internet. While the service is good (so far) as at this writing, Afrihost are getting penalised from me for: 1. Inconsistent information - their website mentioned 14 days while their call center teams mentioned 14 working days. 2. I used up a lot of my talktime minutes making calls to Afrihost - I almost depleted my talktime minutes just trying to get my service connected. 3. If I did not call them every day from day 11, they would have not followed up with Openserve.
Gave Minuteman Press a job to make copies and scans of regulatory licensing applications. They botched up the job by not making copies of all the applications and not making any scans whatsoever. yet, they charged me for both. I discovered the omissions when I brought the copies home.
