My employee took out a Hollard funeral plan for her mother-in-law. Sadly, her mother-in-law passed on in early February 2026. A claim was submitted on 12 Feb, and again on 20 Feb 2026. My employee & I both engaged with a Hollard consultant on two occasions- they reassured us that the claim documents were received and the claim in process. They claim to have a turnaround of 2 days- alas, up until today (4 March 2026) the claim has not been settled. When trying to lay a complaint with them at the email address given by the consultant (mycomplaints@hollard.co.za), even this returned. So, there's no way that we can lodge an internal complaint. This is very bad service from a so-called leader in their field.
I have never met a customer relations consultant like Ben Mokgatle- trustworthy, efficient and knowledgable. I had a claim for a pool pump with Bettersure, and Ben took the call. From claim stage up until payment stage Ben made sure that I was in the loop with developments. He followed up on the repairs last week, and upon hearing that the repairer did not yet do the job he suggested that, if I so wish, he could process payment of the claim and I could select a different supplier. After signing the document the money was in my account within 2 days, and I could manage to have the repairs completed. Thanks Ben, you're a star.
This is not a review for Bettersure- they are ****. However, their consultant Ben Mokgatle is tops. Very professional, courteous and polite. If he promises to get back to you he does indeed. I registered a claim in December 2024 for a pool pump. Bettersure never kept me in the loop, and the only memorable person in this whole experience was Ben. Today, 31 Jan 2025, I was informed that my claim was rejected- I immediately contacted Ben and told him exactly what I thought of Bettersure and their constant delays at claim stage. Ben forwarded my email to Management and within the hour Ben called to confirm that they had reconsidered and were now going to honour the claim. So the 4 stars is for Ben, not Bettersure.
