Warning: Planet 42 Since 2024, I have been extremely disappointed with Planet 42. They gave me a vehicle with a failing engine , which I returned twice. Despite this, they cancelled my contract even after I had paid a month’s instalment — with no use of the vehicle. Dealing with their Menlyn branch in Pretoria was a nightmare — left waiting all day and only given options at closing time. Customer service ignored key issues, and I was told I owed R16,000 for a vehicle I returned because it was unaffordable (R8,200/month for a Ford Figo). Even after arranging my bank to reverse debit orders , Planet 42 blocked the process. By the end of January, the same amounts were deducted again , despite proof and repeated refund requests. No clear communication, no direct contact with the debit order department. Their repeated unauthorized deductions violate South African banking rules, including the National Credit Act and EFT regulations, which protect consumers from ******* debits. Paying for something you never received is unacceptable Planet 42’s lack of transparency, poor service, and ******** debit orders make it impossible to trust them. Be extremely cautious dealing with Planet 42!
Mikes Kitchen Klerksdorp. Julle bestuur is maar power. Ons het n voucher gehad van R300 weens slegte kos ( wat toe uitgesort was) ons het toe as n familie verlede Sondag daar geëet. Kos was great en diens was Great en toe die rekening kom toe het elke gesin hulle gedeelte betaal, min besef ons dat die voucher reeds afgetrek is. Ons het die pryse per item uitgewerk, per gesin met normale prys. Ons het laat middag bestuur ge****ak en gesê dat ons nie die voucher gebruik het nie en dat daar 3 verskillende betalings gedoen is en dit is veeel meer as wat dit moes wees. Bestuurder Angelique het gesê sy sal dit uitsorteer, sy sien die fout. Sy het genoem dat sy Maandag af is en sal Dinsdag terug kom na ons toe. Dinsdag het gekom en gegaan en geen terugvoering was ontvang nie. Ons het toe Woensdag uitgereik en sy was toe eweskielik van niks bewus of kon nie die transaksie onthou het nie. Sy het gesê sy gaan met die ander bestuurder praat Jean-Michael of so iemand. Tot vandag toe niks gehoor nie (Saterdag - amper n week later). Die rekening is met n Tip op die normale rekening gegee plus ons R300 voucher is daarmee heen. Dankie Mikes hoop julle bly by julle beleid en dat julle na julle customer service beter sal hanteer en dat julle eerder by julle woord moet hou. Compared to the experience I had with the rest of Vodacom, where the service was disappointing to say the least, you’ve shown what true professionalism and efficiency look like. In October last year, I contacted Vodacom to cancel my contract and switch to prepaid. I was told I couldn’t do that directly, but instead, I had to move to something called a SIM top-up (or something along those lines) to make the process “easier.” The consultant assured me multiple times that I would be able to cancel anytime from February. I asked her more than once to confirm this, and her answer was always yes — anytime. Fast forward to March, I called to cancel as advised, only to be told that my contract now runs until 2027. That’s two extra years I never agreed to — and for what? I didn’t receive a new device or any benefit that would justify a contract extension. When I tried to explain what I was told, I was met with rude and unhelpful responses. I’ve requested the voice recording of that call (which would prove what the consultant told me), and to this day, I’ve received no assistance. It’s been a constant back-and-forth with no resolution. Meanwhile, my debit order is due again, and I’m stuck paying for something I never agreed to. This is just unacceptable and feels like a complete ****. Vodacom, I need this resolved immediately. Your lack of accountability and customer service is shocking.
