What a lot of jokers! Feeding their customers with the normal BS about backed funds and we all now stand to loose 24% of our money due to poor diligence. And there is NO way they will solve this issue with their poorly chosen partner, so just write off that 24%. Heed my warning people - take your 24% loss and RUN - crypto is just getting too risky and we already saw a couple of shockers lately. And the worst is that every server provider just shrug their shoulders and they do not take any responsibility.
This must be the most useless organisation in the world! They are sitting with R100,000 of mine for over a week with no action. I query this daily and I just get no answers. Beware - I think they are fraudsters.

I am really starting to enjoy dealing with incompetent people. Everytime I receive a response from the Social Media Team, I share it with everyone I know and my saga has become like a suspence thriller and no-one can wait for the next daft response.

And so it happened again this morning, after my post of yesterday. Here is their response:

Official business reply:
Thank you for making contact with us.

Please be assured that this matter has been escalated to our Accounts Team, feedback will be provided.

Your reference number is AI ********** .

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Regards,

Busi

Telkom Social Media Team
**********
Accounts Team? Busi, may I suggest you go for reading classes? And I suggest you do it as soon as possible - It cannot be nice to sit with a red face all day?

This issue has NOTHING to do with the accounts team! For the 20TH TIME: I am trying to get my Telkom Internet SIM card activated (which Telkom issued). The web is full of complaints from scores of people who received this product, but cannot get it activated. But also Busi, you probably do not even know what a Telkom Internet SIM card is?

So, all I need is contact from some devine being at Telkom to get this activated. But I do realise my chances are slim - if no-one could assist me in 7 months, what is going to change?

I have been battling with this useless company since March 2016 to get my Telkom Internet SIM card activated. I have been reporting on this site on a regular basis and everytime I did get a response that "we are investigating" or "It has been referred to Management" or "It has been escalated as a matter of urgency". So, 7 months down the line and still NO joy.

On the 20th September, I reveived this email from them:

From: HelloPeter Telkom
Sent: 15 September 2016 12:36 PM
To: ********** />Subject: Hellopeter AI **********

Good day

This refers to the Hellopeter Billing query you raised with us.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Please send us your query with the affected number & contact number for further assistance.

Your query will be closed & reopened when you respond

May you have a great day.

Regards
William
Telkom Social Media Team Email: **********

This really takes the cake!! It was NEVER about a billing query at all! This makes me wonder of these people can read at all? Scary thought!

I replied to that email on the same day and you've guessed it - no response.

Short Prayer: "Dear God, please help me not to get upset with incompetent people and guide me safely through this jungle of boneless mummies who cannot get off their chairs. Please help them to regain their eyesight. And I beg you my Lord, please arrange with the Devil to burn down every square cm of Telkom, and tell him he must ensure that it NEVER, EVER rises again"

I have imported goods from the USA and some items are 2nd hand equipment (digital cameras) for which a special import permit is neccessary. The shipment is with DHL who require this permit to submit to Customs for clearance.

So, the application for this permit was duly submitted to a Gift Msibi of ITAC on 30 August. He apparently is in charge (or maybe pretend to be). Now when something like this happens, it is just simple business ethics to respond with:

"Thank you, we received your email" or "I am a bit lazy today and would not pay any attention to your request" or "****** off - I have a very long lunch break every day". Curse me, throw me with stones or scream at me, but do NOT ignore me.

OK, so Gift chose the ignorance route. So I politely reminded him again on the 2nd September and yes you guessed it - nothing at all, not even a breath of air. On the 7th I repeated the excercise and it was again met with total ignorance.

Why people with absolutely NO business ethics are appointed into positions like this, goes beyond me. And the sad part is that Gift is God at ITAC - he cannot be reported to anyone more senior. What a sad situation and little useless commission which does not contribute anything to our country.

After battling with Telkom since March this year and reporting their absolute horrid customer service on this site, I was made so many promises, but like we are so used to in the new South Africa, there is no such thing as pride anymore and no mental capability to comprehend anything. This was the latest response on 18 July - this was nearly 2 months ago!:

Official private business reply:
Hi moepels

Thank you for making contact with us. This response serves as confirmation that your query has been received and we will contact you. We really do apologize for any inconvenience caused to you.
Your reference number is: AI **********
Regards
Luleka
Telkom Social Media Team

In response to my previous review, I received the following response from Telkom on 28 June 2016:

Hello moepels

Your query has been sent to our fulfillment team for assistance.

Your reference number : AI **********

Regards

Noleen

Telkom Social Media Team.

This after I had a response on this site on the 14th June to the effect that this has been escalated as a "matter of urgency". Now there is a new reference number and a "fulfillment team".

And 2 weeks later and absolutely NOTHING from the fulfillment team. Telkom introduced this product during March this year and there are countless reports of others who get no joy to activate these sim cards.

It is time for Telkom to officially respond to the total mess they created with this product.

This is really so frustrating! Promises, promises, promises - this is all I get. I honestly can't understand why God punished us with a company like this!

The last reply I received was on the 14th June, which read as follows:

"Hi moepels

Sorry for the delay. This matter will be escalated for urgency and our team will be in touch.

Thank you.

Regards,
Moenieb.
Telkom Social Media Team"

Escalated for urgency? What is YOUR definition of urgency? In the normal business sense anywhere in the world, urgent would mean sort this **** out NOW!

But Hey, we live in S.A., where next year is another day

So after a long battle to get my Telkom Internet SIM card, the next step was to activate it. No-one at Telkom could help me and I reported it on this site, and got the following response:

"Hi moepels

Thank you for making contact with us and brining this to our attention.

This response serves as confirmation that your query has been received. We will assist. May we please request to provide the ICCID number located on the SIM when possible. Please use the following e-mail address to relay the requested details: Email: ********** or alternatively reply to this private HP post. Please include the reference number below in the subject field.

Interaction REF: SM235929

Regards
Keagan
Telkom Social Media Team"

The information was duly emailed to the address provided on 24 May, and as expected, I had no response from them. The next step would probably be that "we did not receive the email" I have the MIME Headers that this email was successfully delivered.

Shocking service!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, so after a very long wait, I eventually received my Telkom Internet SIM card, with instructions how to activate it. It involved logging in to their website, entering my Telkom landline no. and the SIM's unique reference no. which I did.

The web page thanked me for the submission and stated that I would receive a SMS within 48 hours to confirm activation of the SIM. This was done last Friday (13th May).

As expected, by Tuesday I have not received this promised SMS.

So, I phoned the dreaded 10210 on the 17th May. As expected the lady on the other side did not have the foggiest clue what I was talking about and had the absolute ridiculous suggestion that I should visit a Telkom shop. After explaining again that I would NOT visit a shop and that I merely want the confirmation SMS, the next lame excuse was that there might be a problem at the IT dept. She promised to do enquiries and get back to me at the latest by Wednesday morning (14th). Today is Friday and no response.

PEOPLE, listen to me - we should all make a concerted effort to ban Telkom from this country!
