Here is something I have had before on different medical aids that I wish someone would explain to me. Historical when utilizing medical services, one would notice that you pay more than you would than if you where a cash client. The story was always sold with the statement that it is to “subsidize the poor” which was of course hogwash. Over the last decade I have noticed something else. Now recently I did some tests. After the tests I enquired what the cost was and I was told just over R 2000. On the medical aid the claim was submitted for over R 3000. Now lately when you enquire about this the practice or pharmacy will tell you that “This is the rate the medical aid pays”. Here is my question, if a service costs R 100, who gives the medical aid the authority decides to pay R 200 for a service that costs R 100? It is not the medical aids money, it is the clients money. This opens up the door for medical aids to collude with medical service providers to effectively “legally” de***** clients. How can this be? Can someone maybe explain this to me?
Usually I come here to complain but this time will be my first time giving a 5 start rating to the very pleasant and helpful guys and girls from South African's SmsPortal.com. I was specifically looking for a South African based SMS service provider for my software. Having gone through all that South Africa has to offer, I was disappointed to say the least. As I was cursing bots, attempted AI bots and getting frustrated with very slow and non existent email support I stumbled upon Sms Portal with real people on the other side of the chat. Knowledgeable, helpful and competent. They helped me out at the speed of light. No ticketing, no emails just on the spot proper service that is very welcome and refreshing in this day and age. Well done guys, you deserve this 5 star review. This is what customer service should be!
I have been trying to track down Chartis Life Insurance. I have been a paying customer to this life insurance for 30 odd years but have never received any documentation. Every email address and telephone number associated with Chartis Life Insurance does not work. How do I get in contact Chartis Life Insurance? How do I get my documentation?
Recently I have been having problems with Take a lot. Not only are they becoming expensive and selling cheap ******* at expensive prices but the delays are becoming irritating and then items on the order gets canceled. What is the point of ordering items that then gets canceled one by one. It is a waist of time. Bring it on Amazon.
I have ever had 1 claim and it was a horror. It was a valid claim and Santam tried it utmost not to settle utilizing all manner of excuses and underhanded tactics. Long story short, in the end, as difficult as it was, Santam paid out. I wish I had the recording of when their representative phoned me and finally admitted defeat and that over a claim I consider peanuts but for me it was over principal. And here we are again, principal. I received a letter from Santam. They have altered our original agreement concerning cover over power surges. This without my consent and they state that it is now part of the new contract. Interestingly enough I don't see the monthly premium reflecting these changes. Surly if I lost cover in some respects which was used in Santams algorithm to calculate my original cover then my premium should come down not so? The contract was altered by Santam, I have lost value/cover, Santam has already proven to be ***** and *************. I dread the day I will have to deal with them again so where is the value? Just thinking out loud. I really really really miss Virgin Money.
I have a big problem! A representative inaccurately and against my actual instruction offered a settlement agreement to my employer. I pointed out that the agreement was wrong and not in accordance with my instruction. The representative of Solidarity claims a "communication problem" and insists that I take her agreement proposal and she refuses to amend the proposal or engage the employer to get the right agreement on the table. If I'm bul**** into this proposal I will lose a lot of money. Who can I speak to?
Just a side note for any prospective KeyHealth members. KeyHealth claims that children can have 3 additional gp consultations after day to day has been exhausted. I had my son (age 8) now twice at the doctor and the claims were rejected. No worries and no big deal because I paid for them but I thought I'd mention it if other people were wondering. Just another cherry on the cake courtesy of KeyHealth. P.S. I have already resigned and I will be joining another medical aid on 1 January. Like I said, it was a mistake to have joined keyHealth but it is a mistake that can me remedied.
On the 8’th of November our garage door broke due to the heavy rains. I phone Santam. I was told by the operator that I can use my own supplier or they can appoint one after an assessment was made. I suggested that they get quotes from Santams supplier and I will get quotes from reputable local suppliers. Then we can compare quotes and decide what would be the best way forward for me. I have had three third parties look at the problem including the assessor that was originally appointed by Santam who assessed the claim on the 8’th of November 2022. The assessors conclusion was basically the same as the other two parties. I proceeded to get quotes on the report of the assessor. I promptly received email verification that the claim was registered. I received a claim number and a service consultant Sipho Sitole. I send an email to Sipho as a reminder to first send me their suppliers quotes before I decide what the best course forward would be. From here on I received no further feedback. From the 12’th of November I have been trying to contact Santam but apparently up and till today they are overwhelmed with phone calls and cannot take my calls. The website is no help at all. I don’t see why this is taking as long as it has. It is that time of the year and my family is left in a venerable state without a properly functioning garage door. Surprisingly now I have received an SMS stating that another assessor has been appointed. Later on I received a phone call and a lady informed me that they can only send an assessor on Wednesday. The whole process have started over? At who’s cost? How many assessors do I need to take days off for? How long do I still have to wait for this? When will you be able to take my phone call and just let me know what the hell is going on? Not even ABSA took this long! I told the assessor that there was already an assessor here and that I’m waiting for the quotes. When you feel you have the time just let me know what is going on please. P.S. I still have not received any quotes from your suppliers.
One would think if a company is breaking the law it would be easy to open up a case at SAPS. I am so sick and tired of this company selling my private information to every Tom, Thabo and Thandi with a robo caller. How can one stop this company? The owners should have been fined and locked up a long time ago! Honestly, when your banned numbers are starting to number in the thousands something needs to be done!
Three of the members of your medical aid made appointments with doctors as the medical aid insists on. We took the time, filled in the paperwork, consulted with the doctors and got prescriptions. Going to the pharmacy to get the prescriptions I was expecting the worst based on my previous experiences. Gave in the prescriptions and was informed that the medical aid paid for almost all of the prescriptions. I was pleasantly surprised. Literally the first good experience since joining KeyHealth. Still does not make a lot of sense to make a doctors appointment if I need vitamins for the children or something simple but ok so be it.
