Since February 2022 (it is now 6 months later) my vehicle has been sitting at Barons Woodmead and your people can't fix my engine. On top of that the communication has been very poor. A fix which was initially quoted at ~R35k has now escalated to ~R115k...how is this possible? Why would I pay that when I could buy another car for that amount? Am I being taken advantage of? Are you just finding ways to take the little which consumers have in a difficult economic environment to help you make up for revenue lost during the hard lockdowns of the pandemic? without providing any valuable service or product? Or not committing to your promises and value proposition? I have been a loyal customer of VW since 2007 with my first car. Sadly because of this poor service I am walking away from this brand.

Open Road Carriers have the worst service I have ever experienced with vehicle hauling. They received my fully functional car in February 2022 in Cape Town and delivered it to Johannesburg with a blown engine...it couldn't start the very moment they handed the keys to me. They refused to accept liability but couldn't explain to me how a fully running vehicle is delivered a non runner. Conversations with the drivers indicated that they had done some something to start the car, but the managers Frans and Matthew van Buuren were completely dishonest. Not once did they notify me of the problem. It was only after they delivered and drove away that I discovered the issue. VW confirmed that when they inspected the engine, the malfunction was a result of them starting the car incorrectly; and this corroborates what Open Road's drivers said. Open Road knowing that they were not covered for negligence then proceed to submit a claim with their insurance which was rejected because they aren't covered for that. Subsequent attempts to get answers as to what they did to my car and to reach an out of court settlement have not been responded to. It is now 7 months and my car is not functional despite multiple attempts by VW to revive it. Open Road Carriers has completely ruined my life in a time when things are so expensive for consumers. Their level of dishonesty is shameful and disgusting.
