I ordered and paid for an air conditioner on Takealot.com on 25 November. The product was in stock according to the website. I received a delivery on 28 November only to realize that it was half the product. Only the outdoor unit was delivered and not the indoor unit. I contacted Takealot and they said I must log a return and ask for a replacement. I logged to return on 28 November 2024 and the product was collected on 29 November 2024. The return was concluded on 02 December 2024. I waited for the delivery of my replacement unit but there was no outstanding delivery on my account. I contacted the call center on 05 December to follow up on my delivery. I was informed that the supplier is out of stock and that my product won't be delivered. I requested a refund of my money and was promised it will be processed immediately. On 09 December I followed up again only to find out that my refund has not been processed. Nowhere on my Takealot account does my credit appear and the funds have not been returned. I was promised that the case will be escalated. It has now been 15 days since I paid for the product that Takealot claimed to have in stock and now cannot deliver. I also do not have my refund to buy the product from another supplier. This is not the first time that Takealot sells products that they do not have in stock and then takes forever to refund.
Every week this company advertises on radio and every time I get angry. They installed a system for me more than 3 years ago. Firstly they did not bring the correct equipment as quoted. They quoted on Solis Inverters and the brough Kodaks (then told me it is the same thing). They quoted me on Canadian Solar and brought Kodaks (Told me it they were better). For the first few months the installation was faulty and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. I eventually figured it out and got someone to fix the setting on the inverters. From there it worked Okay and I asked for the COC which was included in the price. I have followed up several times over the last few years and still haven't received the COC. The salesman was not clued up on the technical aspects of solar power but promises you the world. They use subcontractors to install (who confessed he cannot issue a COC). I wouldn't recommend this company.
