I went to Arora looking for a floor lamp - a very specific kind. When I entered the store, there was a gent working on a display - he noticed me looking around and came over to offer assistance. The gent's name is Templeton. I explained what I wanted and he took me to the relevant product display - in addition he checked in the supplier catalogues for availability, price etc. When I was not convinced, he assisted me to look at alternatives. Once I found what I was happy with, Templeton fetched out some globes, and tested the lamp for me, then wrapped it carefully and assisted me to load it into my car. All in all, he was most helpful - nothing was too much trouble. He was also very knowledgeable and offered alternatives where appropriate. What a pleasant experience! I do hope Templeton is recognised for his great service.
I took my (96-year old) mom shopping for shoes at this shop. Being old, her feet are arthritic and misshapen, and she moves with difficulty. We were greeted immediately upon entering the store by a very affable young man named CHAD. He immediately made us feel welcome, and allowed us as much time as needed to peruse the shoes. He was nearby in case we needed to ask him anything, but he was not intrusive. I noticed that he greeted other customers who entered the store, but we remained his focus. Once my mom had selected a shoe which he then drew from stock at the back of the store, he guided her to a seat and helped her lift her feet onto the sloped footstand on which he sat to aid her. He gently took her shoes off for her, then guided her feet into the new shoes, and fastened them for her. He helped her stand up and walk around to try them out. When she was satisfied, he again helped her out of the new shoes, and into her own shoes, fastening them for her. At no time did he rush her, and was attentive to her throughout. This is the type of service I can remember receiving as a child when visiting shoe stores - people were really interested in one, and keen to assist; and stayed with one right through the process to the conclusion of the sale. My mom opted for the shoes: CHAD took them to the counter to ring up the sale. He made sure to show her there was both a left and a right shoe going into the box which he then placed into a carry bag, and came around the counter to hand it to her. I can't remember when last I have been so impressed with the service given by this young man - so personal, so polite and friendly, so delightfully old-fashioned. Long may he continue. I do hope his management take note and award him accordingly.
After days of trying to get a crossed land line sorted, numerous loggings of fault because I kept getting "resolved" messages when in fact nothing had changed, I resorted to escalating to Hello Peter, ICASA and other forums. I was really pleased that Bronwyn of Telkom contacted me - good to know Telkom is finally taking HP seriously! And the technician sorted the problem at my home within 5 minutes. Just so sad that one has to resort to the "big guns" when doing it right first time would buy SO much good will!
