Bought a geniue leather 3-2-1 recliner set. On delivery I found an issue with the 3 seater. I reported it. After bad communication and me constantly following up, I got a replacement after 1 year because of stock issues. A year after that this couch is peeling. After again bad communication from Geraldene Muniah, just saying it's after the 1 year period (even though I just had the new couch for under a year, through no fault of my own). These couches are not cheap, and for it not to last even a year, do yourself a favor don't buy from Decofurn.
Extreamly disappointing after sales. Bought a car in 2022. Car had some issues, brought it to their attention, they sorted it out but not with many inconveniences. Lots of my time had been wasted getting things sorted, I had to follow up and push to get things sorted. Once my car was not released from VW because they had sent the parts there but not arranged for payment for labour. I was told the car had a manufacturer warranty till Dec 2023. Only to find out when I took it to VW that there is no warranty. They arranged for an after market warranty, but it doesn't pay 100%. Last year I had to replace the thermostat, total cost was R15k, warranty covered R6k, I had to pay R9k. The dealer principal has Darius Steyn has been ignoring me.
If you do not want to read the entire message, just read this part: DO NOT USE DPLN Construction. I called Vdez from DPLN Construction in 2021. He came out and then gave me a quote. The quote was for R80k for a patio area (Completed: tiles, windows, doors, painting). I was not ready then, as i needed to save up. I called him again in 2022, he adjusted the quote to R90k. A far adjustment, I was happy and told him to go ahead. He said it would take 3 WEEKS. First few days were good. Then the nightmare started. He would leave his workers on site with no material. Only when I would call him, sometimes only in the evening, would he say he has no money. He would want an instant transfer then he would get some supplies. The workers would be sitting at my place the entire day doing nothing. Then sub-contractors (electrical, plumbing, roofing, ceiling). He would bring anyone he would find. People he met for the first time and left them on site. They started doing the wrong things and I needed to correct them. I was basically the supervisor because he wasn't around, and the workers didn't do things the way I discussed with Vdez. I was told he does have regular contractors as he does not pay them and therefore they do not like to work with him. 3 MONTHS later, all I had was walls. I had already paid him R80k or the R90k, and it was far from over. He started sending the contractors to me for payment. His excuse, he has no money. He then wanted R30k more. I knew R30k was not going to cut it as the plumbing bill was R30k alone. It was just going to be him asking for more and more money. I was left to complete everything on my own, which cost me around R360k, 4 times the amount quoted. And with inferior quality, because of no supervision and unknown contractors. Up to today I am still struggling to get out of this mess as it wasn't planned for. My yard was left in a mess, he argued with me that I need to pay to have the mess removed. My money is gone, and I am left with an inferior quality building. I could go on, but my review is in the hope that I can prevent this from happening to someone!
If there was a 0 star that is what I would give this company. I had just moved into my place. I saw the van in the complex, decided to take the number because I had an issue with my heat pump and they were working on one. Called the number and got through to Gerhard Coetzee. He had a look at the heat pump, said he needed a part that was discontinued, he said he has a friend who has these parts, he made "a call to his friend, even asked for a discount". Told me it was R1100 and it had to be cash. The body corporate had got him to work in the complex, so I trusted him. Thereafter everyday was a story, tomorrow, can't get the part, then I had to meet him at the mall to give me the money back. He even got his wife Chantelle to do a **** Proof of Payment to say the returned the money to me. Do yourself a favour just stay away.
I bought a Gear Fit 2, 2 weeks later the device falls of my hand and the screen cracks. The device has opened a few times in that week but hasnt fallen. I have read many reviews on the net about this. Samsung says that there is no problem with their band, yet they changed the band on the Gear Fit 2 Pro. I was requested to take it in for an assessment. Their engineer said it fine. When I was there I asked the engineer to put the device on his hand. The device came of. His conclusion was the devices comes off easily but it passes Samsungs test. Luckily Samsung does not make cars, a wheel will come of and it will be ok. I posted on Samsungs Facebook page, kept getting replies that someone will contact me. No one did and eventually my post was no where to be found. Below is my emails to Samsung, they dont reply with details on their emails, if they even do reply: Good day Rubina How are you? I do apologies for emailing you on a negative issue. But I need your assistance. Please read the attachments to get a background. Here is a summary: - Emailed ********** response from them was not helpfully. - Was called by Prudence from VOC and asked for serial numbers of fridge and TV. I requested the call be escalated. And also requested that the manager "Buntu" call me. - Sent through serial numbers, was told by Prudence that she requested proof of purchase. I have my calls recorded, so I listened to them and this was not the case. Requested Buntu's contact info and for him to call back, I did not receive either. - Called the Samsung number to speak to Buntu, but he was always busy. Always left messages for him to call me. - Called again and got through to Linda. She said that she will log a call for the fridge and TV. And will get Buntu to call me regarding the Gear. - Emailed Linda last week Monday and Thursday for feedback, I have not yet received any feedback. - Called in today, got through to Prudence, she said Linda is on lunch, I requested to speak to Buntu. After being on hold, Prudence informed me that Buntu wants to speak to Linda first, before speaking to me. I requested that he speaks to me then he can speak to Linda. He still refused. - Prudence said that she will log a call for the fridge and TV. - My first email to Samsung was on 30 August 2017. Today is 19 September 2017. As I mentioned, I am a big Samsung fan, but recently I have been having issues. The problem I have now, is the Gear. I have had it for about a month. The strap is faulty and keeps falling of my hand. It fell and the screen is cracked, and Samsung wants to charge me R2080 for the repair, when I paid R2000 for the unit itself. I have seen many reviews about this issue. I am hoping you can assist me in solving this within Samsung and not have to take this to social media or hello peter. Hi Rubina How are you? I wish you a very happy new year. Just to give you an update, this issue has not been resolved. Samsung customer service is extremely shocking. Buntu only called me twice, I had to call in everyday. I was not given a direct number, I had to go through the call centre each time. The product was tested at Samsung in Woodmead. The technician said that the band passed Samsung's tests, BUT IT DOES EASILY COME OFF. But its not Samsung's problem. I'm so glad that Samsung does not make cars, because driving on a smooth road will be fine. But hitting the first bump, the wheels come off, BUT THATS NOT SAMSUNGS PROBLEM. Below is an email which I have sent to the complex managing agent: I would like to inform you of my recent interaction with Gerhard and Chantelle of Brilliant Heating and Cooling. I met Gerhard outside one of the units in Herons View. He told me that he does work for the Body Corp. I asked him to come and have a look at my heat pump. This was on a Thurdsday about a month ago. He came through, I am not sure if you remember we were inquiring about whether or not the Body Corp will pay for this. He then came again on the Friday, I was at home this time. He informed me that there is a circuit board that needs to be replaced. He requested cash, as he said it will be cheaper and quicker. He call someone and even requested a better price for me. He was to get the board that afternoon and come back the next day. I dont give anyone cash before delivery of service or goods, but the only reason I did was because he was doing work for the Body Corp, so I had trusted him. I had given him R1100. Saturday came, he did not come through. I tried calling and he did not answer. The same thing happened on Sunday. Spoke to him on Monday morning, he informed me that he is on his way to me but he is just stuck in trafiic. Tried to make a summary in point form so that its not to much to read. Thurdsday (6 April): Came through to check. Friday: Checked and requested R1100. Saturday: Did not pitch up and did not answer calls. Sunday: Did not answer calls Monday: Informed me he is stuck in traffic, but is on his way to me. Did not show up and stopped answering my calls. Tuesday: Excuses again, but will come through and repair it today. Wednesday: He is very busy, I must stop worrying him. He will repair it by Thurdsay. I said that I will not call him, if its not done by Friday I am just sending him my banking details and he needs to do an eft. Thursday: Nothing happen Friday: I sent him my banking details. He called me and said that he is coming through. Never came, said he will come tomorrow. Saturday: Never came. Sunday: No answer. Monday: Requested that I speak to Chantelle at the office, she will do an eft. She said that she will do it later. Informed me that it is done. Tuesday: I waited for money to clear in my account. Wednesday: Contacted Gerhard, he tells me that he has a 3 day wait on his account before money goes out (ABSA). He will get Chantelle to send the eft. Thursday: No proof of payment sent and no money in my account. They gave me excuses that the internet is not working. But Gerhard told me he saw the proof of payment printed out, I requested a picture of it, but then it was the excuse of his phone being faulty. Friday: Same story of the internet not working and they cannot send proof of payment. Saturday, Sunday and Monday: No interaction. Tuesday: He says he is bringing cash. After many calls he says that he is in Waterfall. I told him that I was there and that he can meet me at the mall. I waited for a long time, at one point he told me that he is right there and can see the mall. Eventually he stopped answering his phone and I eventually left. Wednesday (25 April): He said his phone died so he couldnt answer. But if your phone is off it will go to voicemail and not ring. Then he tells me I made him wait there and I wasnt there. He then sent a Nedbank proof of payment. Said that he has a 3 day hold on this account also. I checked with Nedbank and this was not a legit payment. This is really a summary of what happen. I made numerous calls a day and recieved even more lies and excuses. I know my money has been stolen. But as I said the only reason that I gave him the money in the first place is because he does work for the Body Corp. I think we should stop this before other residents money are stolen. I am passing this onto my lawyer today and will also be sending this to other Body Corp's that I know off. I do not want this to happen to other residents. Below is Gerhards reply: Good morning To all that know me well, know that I don’t reply on bull****. The Con Artist is not us or me but you. I was send to that complex to fix one heat pump and I was approach by 4 other people that had problems with their heat pumps. All five the heat pumps was fixed the same day or the next day, everybody paid me cash or transfer money into my account. All of those heat pumps that I’ve fixed is guaranteed for one year. You approach me to give you a quote on your heat pump when I arrived there to do a quote your dad was all over me with his phones camera to take photos that it actually disturbed me. When I finished at one off our other units you phoned me to stop there. I told you what I do and what the cost will be and you also ask me for 2 quotes on 2 aircons, you said it sound reasonable. I said to you it is normally going to cost you R 2 500.00 to fix your heat pump but if you want us to do both the aircons I will only charges you the amount for the spares which is R 1 100.00. You agreed and I left to carry on with my other work, you phoned me later to pick up the R 1 100.00. An hour after you gave me the money that was 16.30 you phone to find out when will I come to fix the heat pump. I’ve told you that I will go and pick up the spare and then I will do the heat pump when I install the aircons on Monday/Tuesday, then you said no leave the aircons. Now you little piece of **** that’s where you con me. You are the con artist. On 2 occasions I phoned you to drop of the money where you said you are not there and the other time I said I will leave the money at the guards where you refused. You gave me R 1100.00 cash there was no vat or labour charged. My wife did make 2 payments that I blocked and reversed because my business is not for sale for a R 1100.00 and you don’t own me and my business. You made me wait for 2 hours at the mall while I have others business to do. I did not con you, I ****ed you around like you did to me. This is not a little curry shop in Durban, a real business where I have to pay for petrol, labour and spares to make a decent living. Carry on and I will take you on. You are not going to **** me around, I will be at that complex on Saturday morning for another job then I will drop off your R 1 100.00. There was no paperwork so I don’t want to hear from you anymore, make sure you are there on Saturday to receive the money.
