Yesterday, 21 June 2018, my friend and I were out having lunch at Rockets Parkhurst when something very unexpected happened. So we were having a good time until our bill came. Our waitron, named Cynthia, gave us our bill and we paid for it, with tip included. As we were still seated she came back to us and insisted that we give her a 10% tip, she said it was mandatory that we give her that much tip as this was her salary. We told her that nowhere does it say that it’s mandatory to tip 10%. We then told her we gave her what we could and because we’re students, that’s all we could afford (even if we had money, we have a choice whether to tip her or not). We then reported her to management and they confirmed that it’s not mandatory to tip 10% unless your bill is over R1000. Even though they clarified the tip issue, I feel like the issue could have been handled better and they should have called Cynthia to come and apologise for what she did. I have never experienced such and because of this incident I’m not going back there.
<p>I have been struggling to get my money from STANLIB for almost two weeks. This is very frustrating because I was told that I would recieve my money on a certain date several times. I was then given excuses about system upgrades which have nothing to do with me. I need this money as I am travelling out of the country on Wednesday and need to pay for certain costs. All I really wanted was a certain amount at a certain time, and I gave reasonable notice but all I got was terrible service. The last person I spoke to was Sumaya Hassen who promised that my money would be transfered by Friday 30 September but still NOTHING. After this experience and incovenience I am moving my funds from STANLIB to another institution that can serve me better. All I want is my money!</p>
I cannot fathom the attitude that we received at Cubana in Claremont last night. On arrival our waitress ( whose name is Imma) did not pay us any attention and after sitting for a while we ended up having to call her to come serve us. Our orders took forever before we could get them and when we complained to her about how slow she was she did not pay us much attention but instead went on to help other customers. We had to wait for more than 10 minutes for tomato sauce that we ended up asking another waitress to bring us some. I am so disappointed in the lack of professionalism and courtesy that our waitress had and the worst part is that when we told her, while paying the bill, that she won't be getting a tip because she was not doing her job right she just said \She's very busy
