Usually their food is great but on Sunday my partner and I went to The Rocket last minute as we were not impressed with the food from place we had originally booked for Valentines day. My partner ordered their Jack Daniel steak, I love prawns and steak. I asked the waiter what size prawns come with the surf and turf steak and he stated 4 king prawns. I found that a bit hard to believe. I asked him if he was not sure if they were prince prawns and he said no they are king prawns but deshelled. We both asked for our steaks medium to rare. My partner got his steak and it was amazing. My steak had no seasoning, it was so bland and the prawns looked like shrimps because they were so small. I asked the waiter if they had not seasoned the steak. He stated they add a little seasoning. I told him there was no seasoning at all. They offered to make me a different steak. I stated I will order the Jack Daniel steak. When I received my steak I could see that all they had done was basted the same steak with the sauce and not put it back on the flame. The steak inside tasted the same. It was just horrible. You could taste the difference between mine and my partners. The kitchen had closed and I was just to annoyed to complain. I understand it was late and the staff were in a hurry to go home but at the end of the day we paid for our serviece and I was not happy with what I paid for. The salad however was really great.

Yesterday, 21 June 2018, my friend and I were out having lunch at Rockets Parkhurst when something very unexpected happened. So we were having a good time until our bill came. Our waitron, named Cynthia, gave us our bill and we paid for it, with tip included. As we were still seated she came back to us and insisted that we give her a 10% tip, she said it was mandatory that we give her that much tip as this was her salary. We told her that nowhere does it say that it’s mandatory to tip 10%. We then told her we gave her what we could and because we’re students, that’s all we could afford (even if we had money, we have a choice whether to tip her or not). We then reported her to management and they confirmed that it’s not mandatory to tip 10% unless your bill is over R1000. Even though they clarified the tip issue, I feel like the issue could have been handled better and they should have called Cynthia to come and apologise for what she did. I have never experienced such and because of this incident I’m not going back there.

On Thursday the 20th of 2018, I went to Rockets Restuarant in Parkhurst with a friend for the first time. I had a great time and enjoyed myself until it was time to pay for my bill. The waitron, named Cynthia, demanded a tip from us. She told my friend and I that it was Rocket Policy and compulsory at Rocket Reatuarant to pay a 10% tip from the almost R300 bill to her as our watron. We had already tipped her R9 but she was not satisfied. She also told us that she doesn’t get a salary she only lives off tips! We told her we are students and R9 is all we can give her ...she then decided to go get us the R3 change she was keeping from us. This upsets me because nowhere in South African legislature does it state that customers must almost be held at ransom just for a tip!!l reported her to management and they accommodative and gave me their full attention and ears . However I feel as if they were supposed to call Cynthia to confirm what I was reporting, especially since Cynthia ran away when she saw me walking to her management. I feel like management was lastly , supposed to take down my details to update me further about this matter or just to tell me it has been resolved. All they did was apologize and tell me they will speak to Cynthia . This experience really dented what was a great day and time at the restaurant. I don’t see myself going there again

In a previous report I complained about lack of feedback from Rocketshop. Peter Drucker a well known management consultant taught me that when you make a mistake with a customer you have a unique opportunity to prove how good you are. Well Rocketshop and Lizzy proved to me how good they are. I got an immediate response, no feeble excuses and my problem was resolved, Ouma has her lamp, and she also got a small gift as well.
Well done Lizzy you showed how a complaint should be handled.
I will certainly be doing business with you again, and wish you luck with your new upgraded web site

I purchased a reading light for my Oumas Kindle for Christmas, unfortunately it turned out to be faulty which I understand can happen. I let Rocketshop know and they asked me to return it. I couriered it to them and it was signed for on the 2nd Feb 2015. I have phoned there land line number, it says it has been disconnected. I have called Diana's cell phone and left a message, got no response. There web site has gone off line, and they do not reply to emails on two different email addresses.
I am concerned that they have gone bust, all I want to know is what has happened to Oumas lamp, and when I will receive a replacement. It is now two months from Christmas and she can't read her Kindle during the load shedding, which was the whole idea behind getting her a lamp.
