Welcome to the DSTV lottery. The onscreen schedule never reflects accurately. Show times are approximate. Catchup is apparently subscriber specific, because some shows that are supposed to be on Catchup are never on our Catchup, even though we are a premium subscriber. Or one day they are there then suddenly they are gone. Some shows get repeated every day, while others are never rebroadcast, even though loadshedding means we miss a lot. Time to switch to Netflix!!!
ABSA is so useless. We have been trying to cancel a paid up homeloan account with ABSA, it is impossible to even get anybody on the phone. Avoid ABSA is my only advice.
People should know the Re/Max estate agent brand is worthless. Re/Max internationally operates on a franchise model and each agency branch is independent. This means if you run into difficulties with a particular Re/Max agency, you will receive no help in finding a resolution from the Re/Max national, regional or international offices. Be warned.
Last year I discovered Bakers Bin in Pretoria - Lynnridge Mall. What a joy. Great products at excellent prices and such lovely staff. I have tried some of the smaller Bakers Bin franchises around Pretoria but unfortunately they do not compare in price or service quality. Go to the original one at Lynnridge Mall for the best experience.
The poor service from Nedbank continues. After much trouble last year to find out who their new account relationship manager is after the old one retired, now this new relationship manager just disappears and I am back to square one. Not even the branch manager knows what happened. All the documentation we sent last year has also just disappeared. Try getting anybody to do anything at Nedbank!@!
Worst courier in the world. Package sent from UK on 13 January 2021@ 3 day delivery rate. Today is 2 February 2021, three weeks later, and the package has not even been dispatched yet from UPS in the UK. I spent three hours on hold with UPS in UK last week, still did not manage to speak to a real person. Service from UPS in SA even worse, I queried with them a week ago, still no definite answer about what the problem is, despite about 10 pone calls. Their standard reply: oh we'll have to send an email enquiry. I have even tried calling UPS in the USA, but all their overseas "call centres" are all just machines. Clearly nobody in charge of this useless operation. My advice: NEVER use UPS
Trying to obtain information for four months from Nedbank on behalf of a relative overseas, Now I realise why the bank is close to bankrupt. The inefficiency of Nedbank systems and procedures (like their branchless banking - how is that supposed to work??) is covered up in a concerted effort to cosset the CEO by smug executive assistants who are employed apparently for their lack of empathy and initiative. If Mr Brown is interested in knowing how bad things are on the ground, and how hard the bank makes it for long-standing clients to execute simple transactions, he is welcome to contact me. Monica has my number. Or perhaps he knows and simply doesn't care. Faithfully Thomas
Great day trip from Pretoria. Excellent and wide range of fresh produce at reasonable prices. Fantastic bookshop, with a huge kiddies section. My favourite new discovery in 2020!
Went to the restaurant yesterday for the first time. What a pleasure!! Such friendly and attentive staff, a great way to finish a hike in the gorge below. Very reasonable prices. A real plus point in these Covid times: the restaurant has many separate comfortable outside seating areas spread around the beautiful garden where you are well distanced from other parties. This is a place I will return to many times. Thank you.
Puzzles made by Italian company Clementoni are not worth the money they cost. The pieces do not interlink well and the images are badly pixelated, making it almost impossible to tell which piece goes where in a 1000 piece puzzle. I will not buy one of their puzzles again.
