This company is debiting my account without the necessary permission granted to them. I bought a Ford Vehicle in 2021. I have been told by Matrix that they have an agreement with Ford that Ford covers the cost of a tracker for the first two years. At the point that this came to an and, I received a call from Godness at Matrix asking me if I want to continue. Initially I communicated interest pending further written confirmation of the details of this membership. I subsequently did not sign any agreement to debit my account directly. Logically, this means that Matrix should not have my banking details. Yet, Matrix continues to debit my account. Discovery, my bank, refuses this, because they do not have the documentation confirming that I agreed to this debit order. Yet Matrix continues to bomard me with demands for payments. Despite having cancelled the entire set up in WRITTING!!!!! The debt collector agent I am corresponding with is incredibly rude refusing to forward me to her supervisor. Customer Care emails go unanswered after promises of looking into the matter and the debit collectors keep bothering me accusing me of "well how do you think we got your banking details then" - this is my question too?! The only way this could have happened is that Ford provided them with my details unbeknown to me and Matrix is utilising those to ********ly. Debiting my account for the past two months subsequent to which I get hounded for unpaid bills!!
I reported this firm to the LPC (Legal Practice Council) with a complaint specifically direct at Keesha Fortuinse, whose attendance to my repeated email correspondence has been unprofessional. Not only does she come across as arrogant and most unhelpful but also decides when she wants to respond to communication. Meanwhile, she makes sure to add to your alleged outstanding bill amount for every time she has to email you or send an sms.
This is such an ********* and inefficient administration! Not only am I being told to pay for bills that have been paid but I am also being charged R510 for every single administration request. I broke my foot in Feb 2024 and had to pay R510 for the PMB application assistance and was then told that I had to pay a further R510 to get the clinical report that Discovery requested as part of the PMB claim! I am getting SICK of private doctors charging patients for administration request when they are reasonable and few and far in-between!

Medshield is a disgrace and a sad excuse for a Medical Aid. Medshield rejects payments 7 MONTHS after a preapproved procedure as an inpatient. The correspondence between Medshiel and the Doctor's Offices are telling and should be a warning to all #Medshield members that they ought to consider moving away from this disgrace of a Medical Aid and that nobody should ever even consider joining. In my 1 - 1.5 years with Medshield not ONE CLAIM was smooth. I fought with every claim all the way.
This is not for CaCell specifically. This rating is purely for Nathaniel alone!! After waiting for almost 3 weeks on a simple order (Aqua Fan) I was determined to cancel the order and have my money returned when Nathaniel managed to think out of the box and solve the delivery issue within 24hours.
It has finally happened!! After almost 3 months of asking Medshield to fix a problem with my PMBs my the****** had to terminate my treatment due to unpaid fees. I have been in treatment since 2018 and my last visit to my psychiatrist resulted in a change of medication because of sufficient reason to believe that my condition has, yet again, taken a turn for the worse! I, furthermore, am unemployed since April 2020 and can, thus, not settle the account myself and am reliant on the limited PMB cover which Medshield is legally required to offer. I have, after 3 months of almost daily follow-ups on what is happening, just received a 3rd rejection of payment for my past couple of sessions and this DESPITE having received written confirmation that my PMBs have been approved. I feel helpless, disgusted and absolutely demoralised that my financial situation forces me to stay with the most unethical, unprofessional and disgusting medical aid of all times. What is worse, the reviews of Medshield are so horrible and yet, they don't seem to do anything about it!!! They can't even get it right to change banking details in time for the next DO and then suspend my account unfairly so, despite having arranged an EFT payment from my new bank account.
I joined Medshield in May 2019 and my experience ever since has been one dissapointment after the other! For one, I am using PMB cover and it has only been a struggle to have Medshield administer the PMB cover correctly. Not only are PMB cover continously rejected wrongfully but the application for PMBs is, what I can only assume, ignored. Given this, my practitioner consistently had to reach out to me to ask that I sort out the incredible unprofessional and lack of service received by Medshield, while my practitoner must wait between 2 to 4 months before receiving payment. I am in treatment for a matter that if not treated with the ethical and professional manner required it couls become a life threatening situation. I have been struggling with my condition since 2018!!! Worst of all, Medshield knows this!!! On a side note, even simple things like a change in banking details seems impossible to arrange. I already had to send in my changed banking details THREE times and still, my contributiona are set to go off from the WRONG and CLOSED account. Of course, as it happened in the past, the cover is absolutely suspended immediately but the rectification of their erros is an impossible task to ask for. I absolutely hate being a customer of Medshield and, as soon as I can convince Discovery, who has been the only Medical Aid to really assist me, even if I am replying on PMB cover, to exempt me from a 12 month waiting period, I am going to drop Medshield in a minute. Coming to think of it, I wonder if thatnis their plan with their horrible service? I'm not a profitable client, so make sure she resigns her membership?
