I am writing to express my severe dissatisfaction with the lack of response from DMC Debt Management regarding an account (DMC3, originally with Finchoice) that I believe is prescribed. I sent an email to helpdesk@dmc.co.za on 13 November 2025 and on 24 November 2025 formally requesting the removal of this account from my credit profile with all bureaus (Experian, ClearScore, etc.). I also requested written confirmation once this action was completed. The original account with Finchoice was opened on 24 October 2022. In terms of the Prescription Act 68 of 1969, a debt of this nature generally prescribes after three years if no payment has been made, no written acknowledgment provided, and no legal action initiated. I have not made any payments or acknowledged this debt in writing, and over three years have passed without any communication or legal action from either Finchoice or DMC Debt Management. The continued reflection of a prescribed, and therefore legally uncollectible, account on my credit report is negatively impacting my credit standing and is a potential contravention of the National Credit Act (NCA). My desired outcome is: Immediate cessation of all collection activity related to this account. Removal of the prescribed account from my credit profile with all credit bureaus. Written confirmation that the account has been removed and is considered closed. Due to the lack of response to my direct email, I am escalating this matter publicly. If this review does not yield a satisfactory response and resolution within a reasonable timeframe (e.g., 20 business days as per the NCA regulation), I will have no alternative but to lodge a formal complaint with the National Credit Regulator and the National Financial Ombud Scheme. Please treat this matter with the urgency it requires.
I was looking for an apartment and an agent named Luvuyo Mhlathi assisted me with the application process…I was given a quote and even cancelled my lease where I was staying but the day I had to move in I experienced a horrible experience…I was quoted an amount of R7271 but when I was at the building to move I met with Luvuyo and the story was changed and all of a sudden the money I was supposed to pay was amounting to R9968 and I was told they have to change to accommodate me into a bachelor if I’m not able to pay the R9968 but I will have to add an additional R769 but I didn’t give in…I spent hours waiting for the lease with no progress and I was stranded cause I had already paid R7271 after all that was said and done the agent disappeared and left me stranded with no place to sleep and I had to beg him to give me feedback until now I haven’t received my refund which was promised to be paid on Tuesday and it’s Thursday and I still don’t have a place to stay because they are holding my money and when I ask they just keep quite…I have been humiliated and abused by this company and they show no remorse for human beings….
I subscribed to the Dstv compact streaming which costs R369 but I was debited R1845 and I have been fighting for a refund with no luck they just ignore your emails like you don’t exist and I am now stuck with no food and no money for transportation to travel to work
