So I've app**** for jobs at LexisNexis. They must hire based on demographics or AI. As some backround info, I am an admitted lawyer with a masters degree, 4 years practical experience, 3 years writing and publishing experience in a job with another company, and have academic publications. While I accept they can hire whoever they want, I had one screening call, on a job that Linkedin recommended me as a top applicant. The other applications didn't get further than rejecting my CV outright, even jobs their own website recommended for me. Not even a screening call or interview. I asked for feedback and got an email saying 'your CV is impressive, but we're moving forward with other candidates', which didn't tell anything. The facts that they won't even consider, with my qualifications and experience, and that their own website recommended the jobs, there can only be one inference drawn, and that is that I don't fit the demographics to meet their requirements. And it's been quite a few jobs that I app**** for.
They booked me a flight from Salt Lake City to Durban. The route. Was Salt Lake City to Seattle to Doha to Durban. They had a layover of more than 24 hours in Doha, which is not allowed, so I cannot fly to Doha. I've now missed my flight and am stuck at Seattle airport. Travelstart are closed with no way to contact them, and it's mid afternoon here in Seattle. This follows numerous issues I've had with them over the past week regarding my flights, which their representatives had made and blamed me for. They make mistakes, are rude and almost impossible to contact, especially from overseas due to their hours and the fact that they use an SA land-line number, so it's so difficult to phone. I will never use them again.
So I have an LG Velvet phone. The charging port went funny a few weeks ago, and the phone only charges of the charger is plugged in one direction and not the other. The Hdmi output stopped working properly same time, and the battery started draining like crazy. I called customer service and they said phone was under warranty, so I went in and they said they'd sort it all. Parts will take 6 weeks to arrive. I'm going overseas though, and need to have a battery that lasts. They said they won't cover it u der warranty unless I get everything done at the same time, so I have to fork out for the battery. Battery itself costs R438, which I'm willing to pay, but then they want R550 to install. So I total they want a thousand rand when I shouldn't be paying anything. This just isn't right, especially when the phone is still under warranty.
I was told when I took out my option that it was full hospital cover at any hospital of my choice. I needed a procedure done recently, and asked the hospital to call and check beforehand that I was covered, which was done, and we were assured that I was with no co-payments. We'll, Profmed won't even pay half the amount, told me that the doctor charges too much and it's my fault for not getting an invoice beforehand, when I made sure we checked and was told I was covered. Now I have an account which I can't really afford to pay, and they aren't helping at all, don't seem to care. They didn't even pay half the procedure!! I was given false information.
