I logged a ticket in November 2024 to see if my chair could be repaired. NO response. I eventually called in December, and finally got through to someone, sent all details and images and only then received a case number. They then closed office between 20 December 2024 and 6 January 2025. Followed up on 23 January as I had still not received any feedback. No reply. Another follow up on 3 February - only to then receive a reply stating the person that had assisted me has left the company. On 4 February I sent ANOTHER email to see if someone else can assist or even log a new ticket. Someone called Tariq rep**** and I resent all info and images AGAIN. Today is 4 March 2025 and STILL NO RESPONSE! I might as well throw all my campmaster **** in the garbage and buy other brands. Absolutely pathetic customer service.
What happened to Coricraft and the quality they used to have??? 2023: 09 Aug – Purchased a Leather couch at Table Bay Mall branch. 09 Sep – Couch was delivered 11 Sep – I contacted Coricraft regarding issues within 7 days: - Bad stitching - Very prominent mark on seat - Poor frame construction – creaking noises - Foam in seating were not consistent and not same as instore display couches. 20 Sep – Assessors eventually came to inspect *** After I received feedback I actually insisted on a refund so I can purchase a sofa elsewhere, but I was denied due to their policy, which a quick call to the CPA, confirmed was ******* and that I was in my full right to receive a refund. Instead they offered to repair, replace or let me choose a completely different couch. Which I reluctantly gave a chance to. And ended up going with 2 upholstered sofas instead of 1 leather one. 28 Sep – balance payment on new couches. Order finalized. 15 Nov – After MANY weeks (due to a fabric shortage) the couches were delivered. Was not happy that they only informed me of this delay after 4 weeks. *** I was happy with the couches for about a week and even told the store that. After that I thought let me give it some time and see if I can live with it. 2024: 26 Feb – I eventually could not stand the issues with the sofas any longer and logged a complaint: - Foam (AGAIN) not the same as instore. Very thin and uncomfortable. - Cushion covers keep sliding around the foam and needs to be unzipped and constantly adjusted - Support structure under the seating is terrible. - Fabric looks a year old after just 3 months. 06 Mar – Assessor came to inspect again. 07 Mar – Received a call to ask when they can collect the couch for repair. *** Now, at this point I have lost all patience as I was very clear that I do not want repairs or replacements, I want a REFUND – which according to the CPA I am in my rights within 6 months of receiving the product. It was escalated to head office. Which I have followed up twice now. 14 Mar – A week later and still no feedback or outcome. Moral of the story is AVOID Coricraft at all costs. There is a reason their ranking has dropped to nr 10 in the furniture store category.
Long story short, I have an Oxford Corner Unit Couch that was purchased from @Home Living Space Canal Walk. Beginning of this year I reached out to @Home after having issues with the couch’s’ foam that was starting to collapse. Let’s just say I had to email and follow up a few times to even get a reply. I also just have to mention that by then the couch was out of warranty and was only expecting them to advise on what my options would be. After many many many more emails I was assisted by Shaun Harker from TFG and he referred me to a company they use for out of warranty repairs called Leather Connections. The couch was collected and repaired. The repair cost was R4000 which was okay… but I was not happy with the end result – I contacted the couch company and they did a second round of repairs which was even worse than the first round of repairs. The corners of the foam don’t match up with the seams of the fabric. It is overly stuffed and fabric stretched out. The overstuffed foam extends past the frame which ruins the original look. The clasps holding the 2 sections together with moved and incorrectly *****ed in and one broke off. I attempted to contact Shaun from @Home / TFG again to see what we can do as the only option I can see is to get a refund of the R4000 and for me to get it repaired from a more reputable and professional upholstery company. Only to be told they take no responsibility – which is weird as they are the ones who clearly referred me to Leather Connections. The guy from Leather Connections told them he would refund half of it – which just isn’t good enough. This has been the worst (lack of) customer service I have EVER experienced. I have now had it with the level of customer service that seems to be acceptable in South Africa. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!
