Gde online registration and learner placement.. This does not work at all. We live within a 1.8km from any of the edenvale high schools. On Gde site the school shows still processing but Gde sms says child is placed in Bedfordview high (not in the best location and not technically in Bedfordview) first placement sms received 19 December 2025, appeal refusal received 2 January 2026. My child was apparently number 606 on a waiting list and number 404 was last learner placed at Edenvale high school.. Lol could there really be 404 grade 8 learners within a 1.8km radius of the high schools in edenvale? Highly doubt this. The person that rep**** to the appeal practically states I have to choose Bedfordview high without any further option. Gde site does not work and the people doing the placements are definatly not looking at the documents they requested... (I am thinking the computers are just counting grade 8 student applications and randomly placing students in schools no matter the distance the learner lives from the requested schools) To my understanding the learners that live closest to the school receive preference... This is definatly not the case.
Good Day,I acknowledge that i have an outstanding amount owing on rates and taxes, i acknowledge that i am the 1 responsible as it is my property and not the tenants. I have been to the office on Tuesday 16 July 2019 and was told to pay R3400 in order for them 2 put a new meter in so i could purchase power which i payed, Then i was told by the finance dep i had to pay R10000 upfront for them to unblock my account which i dont have. They installed the new box on Wednesday when i purchased Power normally (How if my acc is blocked), Today i have tried to purchase power again and the meter is blocked (Saturday). I spoke to a number of people at the finance office on tuesday incl supervisor and was told its either i pay R10000 upfront or sit without power. We had an arrangement to pay off the owing amount and it was honored every month. I begged them to sum up my total owing on rates and taxes and create an arrangement so it could be paid which they refused and insist on R10000 upfront. My question is obvious -what does somebody in my situation do, 5 and 7 year old kids, wife that is now admitted in hospital since wednesday due to anxiety, Bond to pay, School Fees, Creche, Aftercare, Food..surviving expenses on a daily basis, where do i pull R10000 from right now (Just Paid R3400 on Tuesday) in order for myself and my family not to die of hunger or the cold or in the dark in winter?? all i am asking is for the total amount i am currently owing on rates and taxes be totaled up and an arrangement be made so i can start on a clean slate and get the owing amount paid up while having power on in my home legally? I have already been belittled by the employees of ekurhuleni on Tuesday as all they want to do is sit on there phones or have indulging conversations with colleagues and when asked for assistance be spoken to abruptly and be told to Pay huge amounts with a heartless expression. From what i can see, the legal home owners that pay bonds or rent on a monthly basis, pay expenses, buy electricity, pay what is needed etc etc, people that try to lead life legally in SA, when we fall short on a bill to the government we are the easiest people to target and be forced to pay up or die where as the guys in the shacks with free electricity meaning if the government didn't already put up power supplies legally these guys take it illegally, they get free water, free sanitation, they dont pay rates and taxes, they dont pay sewerage, they dont pay taxes, they dont pay bonds or rent or anything close to what we have to pay yet they dont get punished for not paying on time or power being switched off or prepaid electricity meters being blocked, they dont care about anybody seeing the illegal power cables laying along the streets....Where does their cost of living fall...on us the people living legally in SA... Now that i have an outstanding amount with ekurhuleni and i am in a time of despair as my families lives depend on me now...again what should i do or where do i get the R10000 from right now? I have trown out all our food from the fridge and freezer prior to tuesday when the power was off for a few days. Do i try rob a bank, rob somebody, do something illegal for the R10000 just to survive? All i am asking EMM is can you please assist in setting up an arrangement so i can pay off the debt reasonably (Not asking for me not to pay my debt) just so i can still follow the legal path in life? if anybody was in the same situation or know what i can do to resolve this please let me know. Thanks Sheldon
We had Absa iDirect insurance for a while now (Building and Contents). Last October the geyser burst and ABSA appointed there contractor to replace the unit with a new unit. it worked a while then started giving a problem where it was repaired again. Now on the 10th January 2019 we opened a built in cupboard in a room close to where the geyser is installed and found it mouldy and flooded with water, upon inspection of inside the roof after a few days of logging the claim ABSA contractor found that the geyser was overflowing or leaking..R500 later it was fixed. Now to the contents inside the cupboard..Plenty of my valuable items (Riding gear, Electronics, clothing etc) was damaged as they were soaked under water for i dont know how long..remember this was on the 10 January that we logged the claim of the flooded and mouldy cupboard..it is now the 1st February 2019 almost a month later and we have not had the claim finalized..everytime i call they say, the managers are busy with the file and they will give me a call before close of business that day to finalize.. This to me is a terrible and unethical service and i wonder how ABSA operates there business in this manner. I wonder why they would be taking a month with a claim that to me was caused by an unprofessional service carried out by there contractor. They have taken all my items and had it assessed by a number of assessors and replacement values given... Sort it out ABSA iDirect as i need to use my stuff.... :( Sheldon ********** 242

My wife was injured in the East Rand Mall Game Store. A rep was busy playing around with a segway. Its a heavy solid 2 wheeled product that you stand on a move around. The staff memeber said she was learning how to use it at the time in the store. The store manager at the time didnt know where to find the proper documents to complete etc at the time of the accident. They requested my wife go to a doctor to get the injury checked up etc and send them the bills. The doctor said it was a bad sprained anckle. This was swollen and there was also a cut on her leg which has now left a scar. This incident happened over a month ago (Anckle still a bit swollen). We paid the doctors bills, Hospital scan bills as well as double the cost of fuel for 2 weeks for me to drive my wife to work and back daily as she couldnt drive not forgetting the my wifes pain and suffering as well as my time wasted sitting in peak hour traffic 4 times a day driving from Boksburg to Sandton. All requested info was sent to the Game branch (Hector and Nicole were dealing with the issue) and no positive feedback was given as yet. We keep phoning or emailing and we get no reply. I went to the store last tuesday and spoke to the Manager (Victor) and he said he will get feedback and let us know the next day and still nothing. I really want to warn all Game customers of the unsafe and unmanaged conditions instore and should you be injured they will make you take cash out your pocket to pay for medical bills then give you the runaround. From today i will be updating the progress of this claim on this site just to keep you informed. Thanks Sheldon

I was employed at Cash is King on a permanent contract basis and at the end of November they said my contract was being cancelled and they would pay me my November salary at the end of November in full..They didnt so i went to CCMA in january and in the hearing i was awarded 2 months salary and they promised to pay latest 15 February..THEY DIDNT. No they dont reply to any form of contact. So back to the CCMA..luckily i have the 2 promises to pay in writing and signed etc. That is not a good company to work for as the processes and procedures of running the business are non existent and they treat staff as well as customers really bad.

Hi. I recently had a issue with Vodacom where they overcharged me for a few months for no reason (Spoke to Nathan Elroy). Now i have a bad payer or low credit rating because they debited an extra amount that should not have been debited and it returned unpaid. I have tried to upgrade a data contract twice now and both times i sat in the vodacom store for +- 2 hours with the sales person trying to speak to the accounts guys and get my rating fixed...Today i sat another 2 hours as i need to get this sorted. as requested previously if vodacom cannot sort out this issues then they should cancel my 3 contracts and let me use another service provider, after 18 years of using Vodacom this service is getting worse. Can my rating etc be sorted so i can get my device tomorrow??
