Propably does not help writing this review seeing that all the other reviews echo the same thing - fees are atrocious and not disclosed beforehand! Very poor!
Problems started during the latter part of 2020 - when I call out the calls drop and when people try to call me the phone doesn't ring, I just get a missed call. In Dec 2020 I requested to have the line reset, this was done promptly BUT did not work at all. In January 2021 I went to Vodacom in Centurion as the problem persisted - They indicated that it could be my line or my phone, they reset the line once again and I WENT AND BOUGHT A BRAND NEW PHONE. Low and Behold, the problem persisted. I went back and they logged a technical query (whom have not contacted me yet) and they did an APN boost, they even did a Sim Swop for which I had to pay R70! WOW, once again, this had absolutely no effect. Went back on 28 Jan and they indicated that i have to wait for the technicians to call me... so i left the store with absolutely no hope that this problem will be solved soon - Stay away people!! i just want to cancel my contract and move over to MTN honestly...
I received a Call from a sales agent on 12/09/2019 @09h44 on 010 010 7400 (please review this call!). The Agent (who spoke so quick that I couldn't even hear his name) called me and indicated that they noticed my phone was not insured at Vodacom. Accordingly,he indicated that Vodacom offers insurance on my phone for R200 p/m. WITHOUT EXPLAINING ANY BENEFITS AND EXCLUSIONS OF THE PRODUCT and without indicating that he is a represenantative of the company or iunder supervision and without disclosing the FSP number of the company the agent indicated that they will continue to Debit my account from October 2019. When I eventually got the time of day to say something on the call, I explicitly indicated to the agent (twice) that that Vodacom is not mandated (UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES) to debit my account and I do not consent to the Product as I am insured at Outsurance. The Agent then proceeded to rant on about how bad Outsurances products were. I indicated that the way the agent proceeded with the attempted sale of the product is not how one sells an insurance product (as I work in the compliance department of a Short Term Insurance company i am acquainted with the processes and what can be said on a call and what not) the agent rudely asked me if I am a training coach. I highly doubt that the way I was spoken to complies with any of the Treating Customers Fairly outcomes and I would like to bring to your attention that this person (and from my point of view all your representatives) is not Fit and Proper to be in the Financial Services Industry. This is not the first negative interaction with Vodacom. I expect a call from your client services Department with an apology and written acknowledgement that my account will not be debited now or in the future regarding the insurance products. Failing which, this correspondence will be forwarded to the relevant authority for investigation into the weak (borderline disgusting) practices instituted by Vodacom.
I have 2 queries with vodacom, in both instances their consultant are total incompetent and unwilling to help, they simply refer me to another department where i should hold the line for a further 15 minutes+. 1. My cellphone bill went up with R50.00 per month. This is ridiculous!! apparently vodacom is entitled to do this in terms of my contract. This is disputed!! nowhere did I sign for vodacom to charge me R600.00 more per year. I wanted to cancel my contract due to this, but this will lead to even more charges being levied. Again the consumers are sucking at the last teat!! Vodacom is charging exuberant fees and getting away with it!! 2. I cancelled my Fibre line in March 2018 already and haven't resided at that residence since 30 March 2018. The R550.00 is still levied even though I was assured it will not be levied!! I called and emailed Vodacom at the end of March 2018 to confirm this!! now they deduct money from my account as they wish!!! Contact me urgently!!
I recently wanted to add a new contract onto my account. Went to Vodacom Hatfield to take out the special on the IPhone 6 on the flexi 200, where after they told me there was no stock and I need to come back the following day. Went back the day after and took out the contract, then when I went on my online profile they registered me on the flexi 150 which was the same price per month as the flexi 200 special. When I phoned them they told me the flexi 200 special ended the 6th and they cannot backtrack the initiation date BUT I was there on the 6th and wanted to take out the contract. They still could have helped me take out the contract even though there was no stock but they did not. Then on my billing information the line for the 150 was charged twice. We then asked if we could transfer the airtime (after reading on the website that we could transfer) and they first said no and then the manager said yes and there was a whole disaster happening. At this stage the sim was not even inserted. We then asked them to cancel the contract due to getting something we did not ask for. I paid the sim and connection fee cash. There was R2 airtime used of the R150 due to seeing if we can transfer the airtime after the manager said the transfer was enabled. The contract was then cancelled but they still charged me an additional R246!? They did not even warn me or told me about this and then my bank went into an overdraft and the bank charged me a R100 penalty fee! So in the end the contract which I do not have due to false advertising and being sly costed me R450!!!
My sister bought a Swag tablet for me as a Christmas gift from Groupon. It is advertised as an android jellybean tablet (which can call, sms, whatsapp etc.) - as can be seen on the display picture on the advertisement (which displays all the android icons). When I finally received it for Christmas we found out that the tablet can't do any of the above mentioned things, and the interface was totally different than advertised.
I called Groupon about this and they said it was fine, they understand and will refund me, they fetched the tablet after about 5 phone calls further. Now the tablet is in Cape Town and they are telling me I can't refund, because there is nothing faulty with the tablet. I asked to speak to management and no one has contacted me as if yet (after I phoned twice to speak to them). According to me this is misrepresentation on a substantial aspect of why one buys a tablet in the first place (because I can't phone or sms etc.)
I am very disappointed in the way they handled my queries (or rather didn't handle it). I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN, as this is not the first time that we had problems with refunding.
