When Health Squared went into liquidation in August 2022 I was left in a quandry. I had a significant Savings Account which vanished in the Liquidation and my enquiries to the Liquidator have produced absolutely nothing !! It was with trepidation that I moved my Medical Aid to Discovery Health, but my experience with them has restored my faith in Medical Aid Companies. Since January 2023, when my waiting period expired, my claims with Discovery Health have been dealt with promptly and fairly. Any queries I may have raised have been answered immediately and the consultants have been patient, polite and professional. What a pleasant change from Health Squared where everything was a problem and the lack of trust was palpable. It is a relief to deal with Discovery Health and I recommend them whole-heartedly.
Their Durban Branch collected and delivered a component for my washing machine during lockdown ..... at no cost. This was an extraordinary gesture for which I am very grateful.
At this time of insecurity and isolation, their online facility and service have been excellent and their staff are highly commended for their efforts.
I visited the Hillcrest Branch at 9.00am to report fraudulent purchases on my account of over R13,000. My Garage Card had been cloned and used to purchase Tyres etc,. from outlets in Mtubatuba and Empangeni between 19 and 21 February, appearing in my account on Monday. Branch staff could offer no help whatsoever and instructed me to use the landline and consult their Fraud Division. I waited on the line for more than 1 hour 15 minutes before giving up in frustration. I used my own cellphone and made immediate contact, reported the fraud and was given a Case Number. Now I wait. I cannot transfer funds as normal to settle my credit card. The fraudulent transactions will place me in overdraft. I cannot pay my monthly accounts etc., etc,. What a Bank ! What a Country ! What a shambles !
