I was assisted by Reabetsoe Letsatsi in the Pet Hospital team this week. My baby Gigi needed to have a lump removed on her chest (luckily nothing malignant). Rea assisted very professionally and got pre authorisation as well as payment sorted. I just had to do some paperwork that was minimal and send the final invoices. My claim was sorted and finalized within one week. Her service is absolutely awesome.
The doctors and nurses and the dischem branch staff are phenomenal but dischem is not suited for insurance at all. Kaelo and Prime cure are just in it for the money. I had an emergency with my mom where I thought I would lose her and was treated like a number. Your call center team do not care about the actual lives on the other end of the phone and keyboard and that has been disappointing in so many ways. Would not recommend their insurance product to anyone. Very amateur, rather go with known insurance companies.
Absolutely amazing service from the Oneplan Hospital pre-authorisations team. My Gigi hurt her foot. I definitely didnt have the finances for her hospital admission. Heather Webster approved my pre-authorisation in a couple of hours and after submitting my invoice, it took less than 24 hours and Robyn Kotze approved my claim. Brilliant service.
It is always an incredibly frightening experience when you have to take you Pet to the vet afterhours! The last thing on my mind was the bill, it was to get by Gigi help. I managed to swipe my Onecard for a portion of the claim and had to swipe on credit for the rest... HOWEVER, within a few hours of submitting my claim, Lorraine Kruger had captured my claim and checked in to see how Gigi and I are. So sweet! I just got a very professional, concise and compassionate email from Eamonne Macfarlane that my Hospital claim was approved too. This team has taken the financial stress of the situation away leaving room for me to focus on my Gigi getting better! AWESOME SERVICE!
For those of you who dont know. The CPA STATES, as consumers... these are our rights.. Right to Fair and Honest Dealing; Right to Fair, Just and Reasonable Terms and Conditions; Right to Fair Value, Good Quality and Safety; and. Right to Accountability by Suppliers. Following my previous complaint the so called exec office emailed me. Again, very impersonal " please see the attached". Neither my ID or my mom's work. I am the payer of her policy and therfore the consumer. Information about cost increases were deliberately withheld from me as well as the right to cancel has-been taken from me as the consumer. Irrespective of me not being the member/dependant, I PAY for the service I am the consumer. I have taken them to the ombudsman for ********* business dealings. Basically *****ing and lying about your access to info as a payer. Again... don't put your parents on discovery if you look after them
If I could give a zero I would. I had a policy with discovery this year and due to finances had to remove myself, BUT I kept my mother on the policy with ME as the PAYER of the policy. Over a recorded line I was told I would get all price increases and policy information and would receive regular updates about financial changes as I pay for it and my mother is MY DEPENDENT!. In September my mother informed me the policy was going up, so I contacted them asking to cancel. I was informed my mother was the only one who could do that. Since October we have BOTH been emailing and calling. I have been roadblocked by EVERY agent in Discovery to cancel and get info and a clear cancellation. I asked that they cancel and that November be the last debit date. My mom has now gotten all details telling her she will pay another premium for December as they debit in arrears. Yet on all the emails the following happened: 1 an incorrect policy cancellation confirmation was sent dated 2019. 2. I was asked for the policy number and my moms ID when it was in the subject line with reference numbers to the mails where my mom gave her ID. They were stalling when they had all the info. Discovery has stalled the whole of October and not answering their calls just to get another premium from me. Listen if you are looking after your parents DO NOT PUT THEM ON DISCOVERY HEALTH because they will stall and make you jump through hoops and prevent you from accessing the data and info leaving it up to your dependent to flounder. When a parent gives you access over a policy there is a reason for it!!! This has been a disgusting experience. You get 100s of automated, impersonal emails. there is NO HUMANITY in this business. Trying to talk to an actual human is impossible!. They are NOT healthcare professionals out to look after people. They are just looking after themselves financially. I wanted to cancel in October but due to them blocking me from access to the policy that I was originally the main payer of and the main member of, I must now struggle financially another month. My emails are being ignored when they have it on a recorded line and on emails that I AM THE POLICY ADMIN FOR MY MOM. Cancel now and do not take money past November.
