Refering a client to FNB is risky these days. They have been freezing one of my clients account since last year, making it difficult for him to trade. I dont know how many times should a small business suffer.
FNB has shown itself to be an unreliable business partner, and here’s the proof. They can freeze your business account at any time, without prior notice or consent, effectively putting your business at a standstill. When a business can't access its own funds, it can't pay suppliers, employees, or keep its operations going. This single action has caused my client significant financial losses and has severely damaged their reputation with everyone in the value chain. As a business coach and mentor, I have regularly recommended FNB’s products, trusting them as I use them myself. However, given this latest incident, I will now have to explore better, more reliable alternatives for myself and my clients. FNB needs to go back to the drawing board and seriously rethink their approach. SMMEs depend on consistent access to funds to survive. Without access to capital, businesses grind to a halt. Reputation is everything, and unjustly freezing accounts without notice jeopardizes that. Relationship Managers must be held accountable. Their role should include advising clients proactively, guiding them through deals, and ensuring their financial activities are handled with care. Freezing accounts without warning is simply unacceptable for businesses trying to stay afloat in a competitive market.

they dont call customers to update on the status of online business account opening request. I app**** at their rival bank and that bank conclude the account opening and I already have the card and Nedbank is yet to call
a Job well done to Absa's online business account opening platform. I app**** for a business acount online on Sunday the 12 May 2024 and got a call the next day at 08 and the account was opened. The business card was collected on the 17th may 2024. They have out performed on of their rivals as they are yet to call me.
The ***** department consultant handling my client's case has poor communication skills. my client has been trying to have his account unfreezed. he submitted all the required documents and the consultant doesnt not reply or even call back to update my client.
I have been trying to get hold of the Pretoria branch regarding my international delivery and no one seems to pick up or communicate on the status of my promised delivery.

FNB Business is constantly freezing my clients FNB business accounts without notice. The move is causing a lot of strain on livelihoods. The recent case is that of a 52 year old who runs a supplies business. for three months the bank froze his account and cant trade.
