This bank has given me awful service. I had and emergency and after ten minutes no one answers the call. The one time pins they send either don't arrive or they arrive ten to twenty minutes late. When I have reported this before on many occasions they blame my phone or tell me the number is blocked. How does the otp arrive twenty minutes later then? There is no physical address to go to with problems and yet the staff I speak to are unable to assist. I never have a problem with any other bank or financial institution sending me otp messages. Don't blame the client for your own incompetence.
This bank is completely dishonest. I am supposed to get Woolworths cash back and for months, possibly even more than a year it hasn't happened. They also stopped sending statements so I was unable to check this. Also when calling, my verification SMS never comes through. It takes long to contact someone for assistance and when I get through they usually cannot assist me. Possibly call centre staff who are not actual bankers.
It's difficult to get in touch with a knowledgeable person when there is an issue. Mostly have to hang on the phone quite long. You're asked to key in a pin that is sent by sms. I have never had an sms with pin landing in my inbox whenever Ive used the service. On this last occasion the person on the other end could not answer my question and could not direct me to anyone who could answer my question. Most unsatisfactory.
I have purchased often. I have a serious problem when I purchase with Discovery miles. My miles were taken off by takealot but they are asking me to pay still. There is no contact number, no email to sort this out. When things work out it's ok, when there is a problem they run for the hills and there is no way to sort the problem out.
Excellent service. The owner always comes out himself to check and supervise repairs and maintenance of the pool system.
This company is extremely dishonest from the moment you take out a policy. I was persuaded by their broker to take out a policy. I was promised a payout at age 65. The premiums were meant to increase annually by about 8%. This is total rubbish. Premiums have increased from between 12% to 13%. After 10 years of payment, my premium increased by 29%....What a thank you for years of paying premiums. I was never told about this absurd increase in advance. My broker says it increased by this amount as I have not been spending R25,000 a month on my credit card. Ina addition there were claims of R17,000 on my hospital plan (which is a separate product actually) for hospital claims. In fact the claims were for medicine, under prescribed minimum benefits, doctors check ups for chronic medical issues, and blood tests at Pathcare. None of these are meant to be used as an excuse to increase premiums...They were not hospital visits but payments made for prescribed minimum benefits. Besides, I was never at any stage informed of the possibility of a 29% escalation in premiums. This is extortion and people should be aware of the way Discovery Life operates.
Excellent service and affordable. Replaced a garage door motor after 12 hours of viewing the problem. Pricing is very reasonable..
I was concerned about covid-19 compliance last year. Asked the front desk to cancel my membership. They convinced me to suspend membership for three months at a discount of 80%. This wasn't actually done. I was also assured that they would take covid-19 compliance seriously. This is not done. All users on floor not wearing masks and none of the staff do anything about it.
Usually fine using this bank. I have had issues with the banking site. Last year a withdrawal notice appeared that was dated far into the future. Despite the fact that there is a provision for cancelling the withdrawal instruction there was a technical problem preventing me from doing so. It took the IT department two weeks to sort this out. Then this year the widget for giving a withdrawal instruction seemed to disappear. I called the helpline on the number given on the online banking section. The man who answered said that he was unable to assist me despite the fact that I had my online banking site open and ready for him to assist me. He told me to go into the branch for assistance. I went into the branch and I was charged a high fee for the withdrawal. I have never paid this fee before and would not have had to go into the branch if the person who was meant to assist me telephonically had done so.
I am always impressed with Capitec Bank. The staff in the branches are a pleasure to deal with, bank charges are easy to understand and the website always works seamlessly and is easy to use. So far I have never had any problems I have had to deal with when dealing with this bank.
