After taking insurance with Coverwise, we needed to claim for case damage and then found they were underwritten by AXA that have now declined the claim as we could not report it at the airport due to it being midnight and we were 2 hours late due to airline (Ryan Air) loosing the plane. After trying to claim from Coverwise, they are underwritten by AXA. And as we could not get to report it at the airport as the flight companies office was closed at midnight and only person that was on duty only sold tickets. AXA (Coverwise) declined the baggage damage. Claim Reference number: GB1-23-081585
This is the start. Difficult to book seats, I know they will blame Ryan Air. But they don't advise you at the time of booking that there is an additional £13, which isn't the cheapest, just to sit on the plane. And I will continue this report on my return to advise how the holiday goes. To continue this saga, an extra £46 later for hand luggage with a very ******** member of staff at BHX, then flight delayed as Rayan Air lost a plane. Sent to gate 59, then 56. The to be told £96 for 2 small cases, left one behind. 20:03pm sitting at airport awaiting fight to take off as does not have paperwork apparently. This just gets better and better. Never again is the answer so far with On The Beach and Ryan Air. But hopefully hotel makes up for it. Well the saga got even better. We got to Barcelona to be herded onto the bus. Then went know where as we had druggies on the flight. So another 1 hour hold-up at the airport while they arrested them. Meant to be at hotel at 12am eventually got there at 2:20am. Hotel is perfect so far. But will be taking a compensation claim from either On The Beach and they can get it back from Uncle Ryan. As it is the worst flight I have ever had. So solicitor's will be on standby. But this will be continued until the end. So now midway though the holiday, just a quick update. We thought as we were a little pinkish, we would try and book our return. Hey presto, nothing works, cannot access bus schedule or Veuling to book the return flights, but suppose that was to be expected. Contacted agent as per OTB agent that we spoke prior to leaving and now await there reply. This has been one lovely experience so far and to be continued!!! Just a quick note to OTB, please hold back on yourside till holiday completed, as you have stated you do not have control, but you offer there service!!! So you do have control or at least should have. So we sent OTB an email as advised on the day we left and our reply to this email was, sorry we cannot help you and do not deal with in resort queries over emails only via phone, so OTB change the rules as it suits. So now to add to this as won't be using there services in the future and would advise new travellers to find other ways to book holidays as will never be using this company ever again. Unless you want a stressful holiday. Please take this as NEGATIVE STARS as cannot get it to go lower. And this will be copied to Trip Advisor as well. Did as they advise and contacted there so called customer service and guess what. 4 days and no response!!! But didn't expect to get an answer.
We were bookto fly from BHX on the 22.04.2023. Flight to arrive in Barcelona at 12:00 midnight. We were delayed and sent to 2 different gates, after having an altercation with the desk, we eventually got on board. Captain apologised and said he was awaiting paperwork for the flight. On route I approached a cabin attendant and asked if it would be possible for them to advise Barcelona of their delay as we had a bus book for 10pm. Which we were advised they couldn't as only had contact with the tower. But assured us that their office would be open. We landed at Barcelona and got on the bus, but just sat there and no movement of heading to the Terminal and the next thing we saw was the arrival of the police. Emptied 2 busses and made 6 arrests. We then left for the Terminal. We are still awaiting an apology but looking at the TrustPilot we are not sure this will ever happen. But have to stay hopeful. But would not recommend Ryan Air to anyone.
