First and last time using UberEats! Was sent a discount voucher by them on Valentines Day and thought I would buy us supper and put in an order from East West Takeaways in Noordhoek. My written address on the App was correct, however on the GPS I could not pin my exact location as the app would not save it. I was notified driver was on the way, I waited at the gate tracking him, however he went to another address in my suburb and waited there. I received 2 messages from him saying he was here, however the app did NOT allow me to respond to him! I then tried calling the driver (Emmanuel) but the call just kept going to voice mail. So I had no way of communicating with him and he did not try to call me on my number. I jumped in the car to go to find him but as I did, I get an 'Order Delivered' message! Clearly not delivered to me. What is the point of this useless app that: Will not allow me to enter my location on the map (no excuse as my registered address was there) Will not enable me to message respond to the driver Why was the driver not available on his phone so I could contact him. I sent several messages to their AI support over the next few days but all it said was their driver did everything correctly and they would not issue a refund! They also said that in the event of a customer not being there they deliver the food to a 'documented location'- where?! Documented with whom? why was I not notified of it being left somewhere??! You cannot speak with a human support person in Cape Town. Ive lost that money I could ill afford. I will NEVER use UberEats again and will never recommend them. Disgusting job, Uber!
An order I put in around September 2023 has just never arrived! I sent emails requesting progress, only to be told /problem with suppliers on restock/delay with transport/please be patient and all sorts of placating nonsense...I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but eventually requested a refund - was told my request had been 'handed to their finance dept.' - who is that, his mother or buddy with a cell phone? needless to say, no further communication, no refund, no goods. The 1 star is because 'some' of my emails got answered...pointless if there is no further action!! My recommendation is to not touch them with a bargepole!
I recently needed an emergency diagnostic procedure. I had not ever claimed on my Affinity Senior Hospital plan in the 3 years I have been a member, so was unsure of the procedure - I spoke to a very helpful lady, Samantha Snyders, in Authorizations who explained exactly how it all worked, and within a couple of hours she had effectively sorted out all the paperwork and authorizations for me to go ahead with the scan. I am so impressed with the way Samantha and Affinity handled my request and helped me in my hour of need - thank you!
This is a complaint regarding their admin, not security response services. I have tried to contact ICEplus 3 times via email and spoken to them twice telephonically to get them to cancel my panic button services.(https://www.iceplus.co.za) The emails have never been answered and on both telephonic conversations I was promised they would 'get back to me', but I have heard nothing. I pay the monthly levy via stop order and so need them to cancel this account. Skeleton staff or not, there is no excuse not to respond.
Bought an appliance from them and paid via EFT. Sent Shop4Tools the bank POP, not a word of confirmation - they just use automated response emails. Their telephones and emails are not answered. I have seen from others that they have not received their goods either. Standard Bank wants to charge nearly R300 to reverse the EFT and they say that if the shop refuses the reversal I lose that on top of what I have already paid for the product. From checking on their domain reg I get the following details; maxitools.co.za / shop4tools.co.za Victor Moima 368 Oak Avenue, Ferndale, , Randburg, Gauteng, 2194 +27. ********** 33 / ********** 966 ********** Taking our hard-earned money like this without sending the ordered goods is theft and the shopsite should be taken down before further people lose their money. A case of theft/fraud will be opened against them/him.
I contracted Motofinn to facilitate the purchase of a vehicle on Gumtree - Both Mr Sutherland and his partner were very positive and efficient on the phone. They promised delivery of all papers within 2 weeks after the sale went through. However that promise extended to 3 months, due not only to the NATIS strike over Christmas but the actual inefficiency of Motofinn just not returning phone calls and emails despite promising immediate response. It took many calls and emails from myself to finally get the Registration papers 3 months later, adding up to a lot of stress. Their main Jhb phoneline hardly ever gets answered!

A service like Motofinn is an excellent idea but then phone calls and emails need to be responded to on time and promises adhered to without all the excuses i was given.
