I bought 2 packets of wors on the 24 March 2024. We ate the first packet about 2 days later and we did notice that it had a strange smell but we didn't think much of it. Then a week later we tried to cook the 2nd packet and then it became obvious that it was off. I then returned it to Food *****'s Market Lynnwood Corner. They requested a receipt which I obviously didn't have anymore because I don't keep grocery receipts since I don't expect to encounter problems with the grocery items I buy. They simply refused to help me even though the sausage was clearly branded with their shop and the date was still on the packing. I was truly disappointed
The Renown Traditional Pork Bangers have been part of my family’s Saturday breakfast menu for as long as I can remember. This food item has over the years become part of the family breakfast tradition. I buy these from PnP or Checkers without fail as such my loyalty cards from these Supermarkets bear evidence. I was very disappointed on the morning of 12 December 2020 when the during the occasion of enjoying my breakfast which also contained the Renown Traditional Pork Bangers as is the norm, when I cut through one of the sausages on my plate, I realized that something was sticking out from the sausage. Upon close inspection of the sausage I realized that it was a plastic string (see attached photo). I must say that I was shocked and disgusted because I had already ingested a bit of the sausage. This took me by surprise because over the years I have become accustomed to the high quality of the product. The discovery of the string is concerning because it is an indication of quality assurance measures that are not up to the expected standard. I am now conflicted on whether to continue buying this product or replacing it with one from competing brands. I sent countless e-mails to Tiger Brands but have not received any response from them.
On 15 June 2020, I paid R250 deposit for a book shelf that costs R499, 00. Then I waited for them to let me know when the item had arrived because they didn’t have stock at the time. By October, I had not yet received any communication about my order. Then on 7 October 2020 I went to the store to purchase other items and while I was there I enquire about the book shelf. Then I decided to change and take another one for which I paid R325 on top of the R250 deposit I had already paid in June. Meaning I had now paid a total of R575. Again, bookshelf was not in stock but I did nevertheless pay the outstanding balance. Then about 2 weeks later I went to the store again to enquire about the bookshelf. I was told that they have it now but that I needed to pay some money. I didn’t understand why cause I had the receipt for the deposit and the receipt where I paid the outstanding amount. Over the past three weeks I have been to the store several times and have phoned them numerous times but to this day (10 Nov 2020) the shop is adamant that I need to pay about R300 and yet they can’t tell me what it’s for. Despite paying the full amount for the shelf I still don’t have it.
We paid Masindi Roof Trusss an amount of R106 700 for the erection of roof trusses, roof sheets and tiles on the 10th March but to this day they have not delivered as per the contract signed with them. They have been lying to us in conjunction with the company that is supposed to manufacture the trusses which is called Roof Span owned by a Mr Barnard.
