I reside in Johannesburg and needed to attend a funeral service in Queenstown, my plan was to drive down on Monday 02/03/2026 and stay the evening as the funeral was the following morning of the 03/03/2026 at 11h00. As I knew the funeral was going to end rather late, I booked for that evening as well. In total of the two nights. I made contact with the Queens Hotel & Casino on the 23rd of Feb. and made a reservation for the two nights. From the start of the telephone call when reserving a room, I explicitly asked whether they accept AMEX (American Express credit cards) as a method of payment. I always try and use this card for flights and accommodation. I was assured that they accept AMEX cards as payment. So, I eventually arrive on the Monday 2nd of Feb. and low and behold, on my third attempt, the lady at the reception counter says "Ooh, sorry but we don't accept AMEX cards. That's when I lost my cool, firstly trying my card on the second attempt, the card machine stated, "last attempt". I know my PIN number and knew something was wrong and that's when the receptionist said they don't accept. Why was I told they do accept AMEX, just to confirm the booking and obviously I'm there now and had to make payment with another card. I know it sounds ridiculous as I had to pay anyway but why was I told YES, they accept?

Was at the so called sports bar requested to run a tab as I was going to be there for a while, I was abruptly told my waiter is knocking off I have to pay I humbly told them I am paying by card and my card is programed such that it can not swipe at the same place twice mindless of the bank charges but a so called manager insisted that I pay my bill and start a new one. I wonder who is the customer here, will I ever go back there? Not in this lifetime and I will surely tell everyone I no not to even try the place

Last Friday night my hubby & I took our kids to this place & the everything from the service to the food was terrible. The waiter seemed not to have any interest in doing his job, the chips were so hard that we couldn't even use the fork, the ribs were tasteless and seemed like they were not freshly prepared. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement & I honestly would never recommend this establishment to anyone even if it was the last one on earth.

Last Friday night my hubby & I took our kids to this place & the everything from the service to the food was terrible. The waiter seemed not to have any interest in doing his job, the chips were so hard that we couldn't even use the fork, the ribs were tasteless and seemed like they were not freshly prepared. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement & I honestly would never recommend this establishment to anyone even if it was the last one on earth.

The bad experience I got today, was on extreme. I ordered and the order took about an hour, we were served without plates, we ordered rib basket of how are we going to eat it I really wouldnt know Futhermore, she wouldn't check if we need anything, until I asked another waitress to help me with drink because the visibility of Nwabisa wasnt there We had to even wait for a bill for more than 30mins. And Nwabisa asked someone to orint us the bill, some things were supposed e to be voided as we didn't order them. We waited and waited. I wasnt pleased with the service, I really wouldn't recomment Queens Casino to anyone because of todays experience Please. Pull up your socks. Im not a happy at all.
