As a resident of Greenhills in the Randwest municipality, I am deeply frustrated by the recent water outages that began over Christmas and continue to this day. Despite consistently paying our rates, which are no less than R2300, we are left without water. Moreover, when infrastructure issues arise, such as damaged electricity poles, we are forced to pay out of our own pockets to fix them. Yet, if there’s even a small shortfall in payment, even as little as R10, the municipality immediately disconnects our services. This double standard is unacceptable, and we urgently demand that the municipality address these issues and ensure reliable and fair services for all residents. They don’t even attend to problems that we experience as residents. Few days ago we had to pay out of our pockets sort out to get electricity sorted in our place. 3 houses were affected. Their answer is they don’t have money yet we pay more than R2300 a month for rates.

What a terrible service we are getting from Randwest Municipality. Azaadville Gardens is their mine pot, we have spent years staying here and paying monthly rates and taxes without owing. suddenly everyone is owing R10 000 plus on our municipality accounts after so many years when we have been paying the accounts diligently. The only explanation from this municipality is that they have added the Sewer charges that were supposed to have been added 5-7 years ago and now they want to recoup those amounts. This matter has been referred to the Ward 8 councilor, and he was promised by the Municipality that this issue was going to be tabled at council on the 29th of August and to date, this matter has not been refereed and still no solution to this issue. The Finance Manager does not even want to come address the issue when we have an IDP, instead we keep on getting these reminders of amounts in arrears and its now even being worked into the electricity purchases. There is really nothing to write home about with this municipality, it cannot even fix streets lights or even closing potholes.

They provide poor services in my area “Westonaria Ext 10”. We pay for services they don’t deliver. When I bought my house i was told to pay R2000+ to open the municipality account (which i paid, because I needed to get services). I pay my monthly services. Later in 2023 they added R5000 on account, which they call “tax rebate” and expect us to pay in short period of time without engaging with the community. Now some of us owes the municipality that R5000 (with interests). To the matter even worse is now the municipality have handed our account to a third party without our converns and thats breach of POPIA act. Now that third party keeps send out sms’s to say we must pay or else they cut our services (they refer to electricity). How can the municipality do that, where is the “batho pele” approach. At the moment most South Africans are financially struggling, paying living expenses is hard and depressing. I personally don’t have extra R5000 source because even my income is not enough to feed my family and pay the forever rising living expenses. Some of us are even considering selling our houses because we are not coping. The municipality is not helping us, they demand, pressurise us while they expect us to understand their failure to deliver services. Is it fair or lawful to do that? RandWest need to be audited

I have never seen inhuman people like people at Randwest municipality. Especially water department. I live in mohlakeng ext5 we have been with no water do three days. We are suffering because they keep on lying to us that they are fixing at shegaetsho but nothing happened we were promised water last night and nothing happened. How are we supposed to survive without basic needs. We dont get any update no communication . No hygene because of water our health is at risk because these people don't care about serving the community. I am really disappointed and dissatisfied with this municipality. You don't take people serious. Your staff is very ***********.

Rand Stadium Toyota. Actually annoyed that when booking service I specified that I want brakes replaced. Pick up car only to find you did not have brakes in stock and also other parts not in stock so I have to be inconvenienced to take car back again. I did not even receive phone call to tell me no stock, only call to pick up car as it is done???? Poor communication, poor service Ps: Recent model so do not even try that excuse!

The municipality is over charging us as residence and they are making our lives difficult. I stay alone but my bill goes up to 1500 a month.
