I am extremely disappointed with Reacomp Meter Readers’ careless handling of electricity meter readings. Due to their negligence, the meter reading for Unit 28 was wrongly recorded under my unit (Unit 12, Sandown Hills) for two consecutive months, resulting in incorrect electricity bills. This mistake has serious financial consequences, as I have been overcharged for electricity I did not use. Despite providing clear evidence, including: A photo taken on 20 March 2025, showing the correct meter reading (5846.8). Multiple follow-ups with Reacomp and the property management company. The issue remains unresolved, and I continue to receive incorrect bills. This level of negligence and lack of accountability is completely unacceptable. If I had not checked the records myself, this overcharging could have continued unnoticed. I strongly urge Reacomp Meter Readers to take responsibility for their errors, correct the billing mistakes immediately, and ensure this does not happen again. If the issue is not resolved, I will escalate the complaint to regulatory authorities and consumer protection agencies. I do not recommend their services unless they can demonstrate accuracy and accountability in their operations.

Reacomp has a reputation to do as little as possible and not willing to correct incorrect billing. I want everybody out there to know that Reacomp claim they are billing you according published tariffs of the municipality. However when you look at their monthly reports used for billing you will discover that they recover more money than what the municipality invoice your complex. We live in a modern world and meter reading and calculations is not complicated. Note that I experienced this problem at more than one complex and Reacomp you have been in denial for too long costing me money and my tenants. I've officially opened a case against you and the Body corporate for overcharging people CSOS. You can either step up and resolve this problem or soon you won't be doing business with any of my complexes. Note that you are not allowed to do what you are doing. And any Property Managing Agent who allow it will also be reported for allowing it. To all trustees of body corporates. It easy to check. Look at your monthly recoveries vs what the municipality has charged you. The two figures need to be 95% in line with each other anything more than that means your meter company is not doing their job. Reacomp it's up to you now how you fix this long overdue problem.

I live in a two bedroom townhouse in the south of Joburg (Cricklewood Complex). My elelctricity bill is being inflated by the so-called indipendent meter readers. We even switch off the geyser but for the past two months my bill has been R2300 and R2154 respectively. Something needs to be done about this. Some investigation, I believe there is something fishy going on here!

The name of the company is REACOMP and the contact person is Zadel. I have put her email address on the person responsible field.
