On the 14th October 2023 , I purchased a Rentech JPC12-100 deep cycle battery from Supaquick, Dundee for R4200. This was to be used to supply my TV and decoder only during load shedding. At the beginning of February I noticed the battery was not holding its charge and I returned it to Supaquick for a guarantee claim. I was informed that the representative of Auto-X (the supplier) would be doing his rounds and an attempt would be made to resolve the issue. No response from Auto-X, but was able to obtain the name and email address of a rep, Richard, who informed me that the battery has only got a 3 month guarantee, despite the fact that Supaquick led me to believe that it had a 12 month warranty. There is no way that I would have bought or paid R4200 for a battery with such a limited warranty. Richard did inform me that he would try and arrange some form of compensation. The silence has been deafening.

I had a full Rentech system installed thought a certified agent inverter and batteries in Nov 2021, the batteries started giving problems in the first week the agent took it back to supplier, claimed they fixed it, brought it back and 8 months later still did not carry charge took it back in and waited again 4 weeks and got it back still with the same problem, their after sales and support is a joke and the quality not worth the money.

We bought a 12V 100AH Lead Carbon Battery for our inverter from Rentech Menlyn branch on 04/01/2023. At the beginning of April we noticed that after approximately 1 hour 30 minutes that the battery is flat. (the battery was not even running at 50% capacity) Took the battery back to Rentech Menlyn branch on 15/04/2023 whereafter it was sent for an assessment / testing. After numerous follow ups and uncomfortable telephone conversations with Ruan from Rentech Menlyn branch we were notified on 09/05/2023 that nothing is wrong with the battery and that it is absolutely fine. We were told that the battery will be back at the Menlyn branch on Friday 12/05/2023. However, on Saturday 13/05/2023 the battery was still not back from Rentech Head Office. Ruan, at Rentech Menlyn Branch is a very rude person with no telephone manner, he is antagonistic and has no skill with regards to customer relations. The feedback received from him when following up telephonically, I am sure, was not very truthful and generic. The service as a whole from Rentech was absolutely horrific. It cannot take 4 weeks to simply test a battery and being told when following up that the whole head office was away on a workshop and therefor could not test the battery for 2 weeks, is simply unacceptable.

We bought 2 portable inverters (PPS 750W) and both failed within the first year and they were not overloaded. The first one failed to give any AC out and the second second one had an overload issue even though only a TV was used for power. They replaced the first one within a few weeks. The second one has been with them for more than 2 months and still no feedback has been given and the service at the Menlyn Branch is pathetic and it's almost impossible to get through to Head Office. It's because there is no financial benefit for them Rentech/Auto-X with after sales service and that's why they don't care about the customer. Now Rentech is sitting with my Money and my PPS 750W leaving me with nothing.

I bought an Inverter and had the misfortune of getting it with a Rentech JPC12-100aH Lead Carbon Battery Rentech profess that the Battery will give 2200 Cycles at 50 % load. I bought the Unit 31 May this year. It's easy to work out that there hasn't been 2200 Cycles yet. The Battery has now deteriorated to the extent that it lasts 20mins. This happened 3 weeks ago already and the people where I bought the unit in Jefferies Bay informed me that they are getting no joy from Rentech. I believe that the sentiment from Rentech is " take us to court ". I got this unit for my daughter who is reliant on it for income as she does online classes. I really hope Rentech will stop the bully tactics and take us small guys into consideration when they flood the market with inferior poducts and great promises. I bet my last Dollar they will not respond to this.
