Handed Sony amplifier with serial no. 6622105 to Rocket Industries on 7 September 2020 for repair. I paid a collection fee and deposit of R380.00. I collected the unit at their premises in Moreleta Park on 27 October as repaired and working and pay another R200.00. The amplifier was in the same condition as handed in during September and not working. I phoned the company the same day and complained about it. Rocket Industries collected the amplifier again on 26 November 2020. After numerous phone calls and excuses I went and collect the unit at their premises on 15 January 2021. The lady then promised to refund the R580.00 as the amplifier has not been repaired. It is the 8th February and no refund up to date. Every time I contact them I receive another promise of immediate payment. After six month the problem should have been solved by now.

On Wednesday , 6 May 2020, my wife phoned the above company for three appliance that needed urgent attention ( washing machine, tumble drier and dishwasher). The lady who answered said that they would come on Thursday, but due to a dr’s appointment we arranged that they must please come on the Friday and preferably during the morning. The technician phoned during te morning to confirm that he will come and that he will phone and inform us 30 min before he arrives. However he pitched up at 16:40 on the Friday afternoon.... to do the job and mentioned that he only had one appliance on his list, not three. He could thus not attend to the three items then. He would take it up with the office and on Monday 11 May, these jobs would be the first that would be done! On Monday I phoned after 10:00 ..... just to be informed that the technicians were already out on jobs. I was not impressed and asked to talk to the owner, but apparently he was once again not available. When I asked for his name and contact details I was informed that Johnny would contact me. Surprisingly the technician phoned me less than five minutes later to say that he is on his way. He arrived 45 minutes later, took photos and asked for detail and complied a list of the possible problems with the three items in question. I then had to pay for the call-out fee immediately before anything can be done and it meant I then had to wait for a quote!!!! Needles to say I had to phone again on Tuesday and requested on the status of the jobs. I was then informed that I had to pay for the parts and then they will order and then come and fix!!!! I did not agree to this and mentioned that I had alteady paid the call out fee of R1080.00 and I am thus not treated as a valued customer because they do not phone back, confirm and deliver a service as was promised! Later on I got a quote and a promise that they will come to do the job. I again requested to talk to the owner but was informed "he is not available but will phone you back"! I was told to pay the parts before they would come out to which responded that I will pay on completion of the job as I have no guarantee that they will do the job if I just keep on paying! Just after 16:00 on yesterday I received a phone call from the lady in the office to say that the technician is in front of the gate!! Obviously no call to inform me upfront about the issue. I again asked that Johnny the owner must give me a call! The technician worked only on the washing machine for a while and then said he'd come back today, Thursday 14 May, to do the rest. It's now 16:00 on this day 14 May and no one has contacted me yet! Really - is it my duty to keep on calling. make arrangements just to get the silent treatment and empty promises. At this stage I would like to get a refund and I'll find another competent company to provide a quality and satisfactory service. I'm also going to report this to the consumer counsel and post my compliant on social media if they do not respond by close of business today! I had enough of this nonsense and frustration.

I had a technician from the above company come out to look at my fridge. It was re-gassed and started working again. No mention was made of any other possible problem, or gas leak. I still asked the technician to check for a gas leak. Less than a month later the fridge has stopped working again. Doing precisely what it had prior to being re-gassed. I paid in the region of R1000. I am told that load shedding could be why it has stopped working again. Last year we had many sessions of load shedding and the fridge was fine. Additionally my landlord has surge protection installed on the premises. Is it my imagination or is it a peculiar coincidence that after the fridge was re-gassed and a couple of load shedding sessions and it now no longer works - it is in fact doing EXACTLY what it was doing before being re-gassed? Instead of a partial refund (all my food had to be binned as it spoiled) I was informed it could be looked at on Friday (I work full time), with no call out fee. No call out fee - fine. But I'm curious how much more I would be charged for any repairs for faults that should have actually been detected during the first visit? It is really horrid being stuck without a fridge. I was so happy to have it working again only for this to happen - to sit with precisely the same problem I had initially. Very, very disappointing indeed.
