Bought a 2400 synapse inverter in February 2023 messed up my gel batterries only get a hour during loadshedding. Sent it in for repairs 2 weeks later there feedback is that there is nothing wrong with it. I purchased it through brights hardware in Mitchell's plain and they gave me a loan unit the exact same and it works perfectly. Now i must return there unit for my unit that is still a problem and my warranty is done end January 2024. I want a new unit for peace of mind not my old unit. Worst customer service ever. Dont buy rubicon synapse products buy growcol which is my next option.

Please steer clear of this company. We bought a solar electricity system off them three years ago. The inverter has broken down and now their batteries have broken twice. Their after sales service is non-existent and they are arrogant with customers. Run a mile.

I deal alot with Rubicon around inverters and off grid solutions. I have always valued the service until recently. We have an experienced team that has done 10's of installs. We recently did an install on a small holding. We ran the system connected to the Lithium battery for 1 hour as per normal. We then shut down and connected the PV array but luckily had fuses opened. We coupled the PV and their was a push back. We then disconnected every and started the unit up only to find voltage coming from the PV side. I sent it in to Rubicon only to be told they want to charge me R4500 to repair a out of the box failure. Screenshots of the PV connectors dont even look like the one part of the unit i handed in. Now i have a client without electricity and a request to repait a brand new unit. How poor is this. I have 15 witnesses that can say that units pv connectors are not the one i handed in.

It is with great sadness to see that you want a customer to pay for a repair of an inverter that is still under warrenty. I don't know how the customer should pay for it. I mean as you could have seen on the inverter that it still has been sealed and not tempered with. I don't know how you get to your conclusions on your report but unfortenatly it is incorrect. So in good terms please explain how I should pay for something that is still under warrenty or refund my money back then. Thank you

Rubicon Cape Town. On my first visit to their large extended series of units I rang on the marked door, wandered around, walked up the ramp marked Dispatch, then Drove up the ramp and wandered around. Eventually I found someone who said Dispatch was in fact 5 units down the road. On reaching the correct Dispatch I found the counter staff to have very little in terms of customer liaison skills. I was ignored (not greeted and told someone would attend). When I did get the nod to state my business the person did not look at me; continued to tinker on his computer, and after the award silence I asked if I would be attended to the person slowly rose, walked up to the printer, and took the order to another person. No engagement. Here I was spending R32,000 for 2 batteries, and being treated like something unwanted on a shoe. Wind forward. My business is looking for some large electrical cabinets; a first order of probably R100,000. This company is the distributor for a make that could fit our needs. I called - No Answer. It took something like 9 calls to finally have the call answered. Back and forth and I had the email address of someone I could send my requirements. to; which I did. Nothing. No acknowledgement, message, or anything. A week later, and a further 16 calls before having the call answered, I reached the person who had committed to getting my query to the correct person. Now mine is not the run of the mill query; it is a big job and I prefer dealing with a small number of suppliers to limit my admin so it was not overtly a quote comparison. This person finally found my email, said he had forwarded it to the correct department and would put me through to that department. So I finally reach someone in the department who wants me to repeat everything that would have been in my email because this person had no knowledge of my email. My response was for this person to make contact with the person who had committed to get the request to the correct person, and to call me when that exchange was done. No Response yet. So do I want to do any business with RubiconSA? NO.
