What a terrible experience. I used them when Gavin was involved a number of years back and that was a good experience. I recently used them and spend over R40,000 in redoing my whole pool. When I experienced a problem after the installation was complete, I got nothing by disinterested slapdash quotes without even a proper diagnosis. I even got a quote for nearly a R1000 to replace a gasket. When I pushed back and insisted that they do a proper diagnosis, they got nasty making comments like "you have an old pool" and " well you chose to replace the gasket yourself". When I stated that I would have to get someone in to do a proper diagnosis, Des told me to "go ahead and do that", but later sent a threatening email saying that my entire 5 year warranty (for the R40k worth of work) would be voided if I allowed anyone else to touch the pool. Beware.

Des came out to see what the problem was with our pool motor. We had to replace it. He promised to quote in 20 mins, which he did. His punctuality and service was excellent. Highly reccomend Sandton Pool Services.

I look after a relatively large pool in our complex and we have significant problems over the past 6 months. Des from Sandton Pool came out and to say his service was good is an understatement. Fantastic service and when I had a problem with one of the solutions he had implemented he came out again, fixed it, and went on to explain in detail exactly what we need to do to maintain the (very leafy) pool going forward. I could not recommend Sandton Pool Services more highly. Superb service and attitude.

After a previous pool contracting company left us with an unfinished job after months of shocking service, Sandton Pool Services came to our rescue. Gavin is such a professional. He came in on a Saturday to have a look at the job required and we received the quote the same day. Work started on the following Monday and was completed within a week. The fact that Gavin was willing to come in and pick up the pieces after a previous contractor was such a relief. The standard and level of experience, service, workmanship, professionalism and communication received from Sandton Pool Services were refreshing. We were kept up to date on a daily basis and the job was done quickly and efficiently. I really wish I had known about Sandton Pool Services from the start, however, I am so glad we were able to finish with them. Thank you for an incredible job very well done. We now have a sparkling new pool! I will happily recommend Gavin and Sandton Pool Services to anyone looking for pool renovation services. You will not regret your decision!

I had the misfortune of dealing with these guys. I had a simple leak in my pool requiring fixing. I reported the problem on Wednesday evening to Walter, and was advised the team would attend to on Thursday. They did come and fix the problem but requested that I did not switch pool on until Friday to allow glue to dry. On return from work Friday night i switched pool on. Problem was fixed but now there was air ingress in suction side of pool. I called the team leader who came on Friday evening to examine but could not fathom what the problem was. I was advised to contact Gavin to create a job card over the weekend so the team could return. Neither Gavin nor Walter were available all weekend on their mobiles and did not return my Whatsapps or mails., Monday came and I contacted the team leader and Walter who advised that they could not do anything as there was no job card - not easy to request if owner does not attend to complaints. During the course of Monday both Walter and the Team Leader advised they would follow up with Gavin to ensure my problem was dealt with and get back to me - they never did. Still no response from Gavin via Telephone, SMS, Whatsapp and Mail. Monday evening I got hold of team leader to check the status and was told they might come tomorrow. I told team leader to forget it and I would give job to someone more reliable. I have written off the effort and costs to these guys to experience but urge any reader to avoid these guys and go to the professionals!

He suggested replacing all pipes which I agreed to (I received the same advice from another pool company). He quoted between R3 000 and R3 500 which I accepted. He requested a 50% deposit which I paid on the 1st March 2017. He left 1 worker at my home for half a day to start digging a trench for the new pipes. On the 1st March, he sent an email saying he did not want to continue as the price quoted was too low. This is an extract from his email on the 1st March: "<em>Please e mail me your bank details so I can re deposit your funds and I will cut my losses</em>". I received a further email on the 7th March: "<em>Accounts will settle today</em>" (it is unlikely he has an accounts department!). On the 13th March: "<em>I told accounts to pay it last week, I'm back from cpt today and will follow up</em>". Payment has not been made and he does not respond to emails or calls. I suspect he never intended to refund the deposit which amounts to an act of fraud. The amount of money involved is small but the principle is big (how many others has he cheated?) We are proceeding with legal action against him. </p>
