I had the misfortune of dealing with these guys. I had a simple leak in my pool requiring fixing. I reported the problem on Wednesday evening to Walter, and was advised the team would attend to on Thursday. They did come and fix the problem but requested that I did not switch pool on until Friday to allow glue to dry. On return from work Friday night i switched pool on. Problem was fixed but now there was air ingress in suction side of pool. I called the team leader who came on Friday evening to examine but could not fathom what the problem was. I was advised to contact Gavin to create a job card over the weekend so the team could return. Neither Gavin nor Walter were available all weekend on their mobiles and did not return my Whatsapps or mails., Monday came and I contacted the team leader and Walter who advised that they could not do anything as there was no job card - not easy to request if owner does not attend to complaints. During the course of Monday both Walter and the Team Leader advised they would follow up with Gavin to ensure my problem was dealt with and get back to me - they never did. Still no response from Gavin via Telephone, SMS, Whatsapp and Mail. Monday evening I got hold of team leader to check the status and was told they might come tomorrow. I told team leader to forget it and I would give job to someone more reliable. I have written off the effort and costs to these guys to experience but urge any reader to avoid these guys and go to the professionals!

My brother wa robbed while on holiday in the USA. He required an urgent money transfer. Western Union in RSA state that a maximum of R30,000 may be sent which may be collected on provision of a governemt issue ID document. Not a problem.. apparently as my brother was fortunate enough to have retained his passport. I dutifully sent himn USD2000 (equivalent of R28,000 - within the stated limit). On attempting to collect in the US my brother was advised thet he would need 2 (TWO) IDs. Not possoible since he was robbed of his drivers license etc.

I had to reverse the transaction, and with the fees, and forex losses, the whole exercise cost me over ZAR3000. A lot of money for nothing.

I have made a complaint direct to Western Union in the US, who fobbed it off to there South African representatives. I have yet to hear from these people. I believe that since the transfers were made by Western Union in RSA they should have been faciitated on the US side (or am I naive??)

Western Union - you should stick by your statements or expect loss of business

Andrews and Young installed a balustrade approximately 18 months ago. Since fitment, I have had endless problems with glass panels slipping out of their fittings. I have had them out twice since then to re-fit but the problem is not yet resolved. The last time I requested assistance was three months ago along with a request to replace a broken glass panel. They have yet to come, although have made numerous verbal and written commitments to make right. It is to the point whereby they are ignoring my calls and SMSs. Unfortunately ‘our honest approach and clear cut ethic’ statement on their website is far from the truth.

Pay the extra money and go to reputable and professional fitters

Andrews and Youg installed a Steel/Glass balustrade about a year ago. Since then (and within warranty) the glass panels have consistently slipped out of their fittings . I have called Andrews and Young out twice to reinstall/secure but they have yet to fix the problem. Three months ago, one panel of the 'reinforced' glass shattered inexpicably, and I contacted the company for replacement. I am still waiting, after numerous calls, and numerous 'commitments' to install, 'tomorrow' or 'within this week' or 'by Friday.

In that time, other glass panels have continued to slip out of their fittings resulting in an uneven balustrade. It has come to the point whereby the Owner/Founder appears to be avoiding my calls, claiming that his father will get back to me. The Owner/Founder however will not provide details of his father.

If looking for a balustrade, pay the extra premium and secure piece of mind rather than a thin warranty which this company is unwilling/unable/unwilling to honour.

Since the issue is a security concern with my 3 year old, I am forced to approach other suppliers. Perhapd Andrews will come to the party???

i contacted kreepy krauly with a problem with my dominator - I was called back by the customer service representative and advised that my issue would be followed up - that was five weeks ago and I have given up waiting for the call- while also having posted follow up requests . Perhaps they are overloaded with similar issues - not a good sign - perhaps pentair have less issues.......
