Poor Service Delivery and Refusal to Come Out
In November 2022 I contacted them to replace my pool pump and sand. I battled to get hold of them and they were very tardy in coming out to my property. Eventually they replaced the pump and sand. By December 2022 the system was pushing sand out (this was due to a broken finger which was not their fault). I phoned them again to repair the sand problem and this time they simply did not come out. They have signage in Doringkloof Mall but the business does not operate from there. There are several numbers listed as contact numbers for them but nobody assisted me regardless of which number I phoned. Eventually I got another pool company to replace the fingers on my pool filter. I am quite sure that my new pump has been damaged due to the long time the system spent circulating rough filter sand. Their service is extremely poor and I would advise people not to use them. Rather go to someone else.

Disappointing experience
Smities Pools built a pool for us. Very bad experience, poor quality work, 6 week project ended up taking over 4 months. Poor project management or planning lead to numerous mistakes and problems.

Smities pools started our pool construction in March 2015 and 7 Months later I had no alternative but to cancel the agreement and get someone else to complete the pool. The quality of work was shocking, plaster had no cement and resulted in the marbelite popping of the shell. The quality of the marbelite was shocking and they still had the audacity to commence filling the pool thinking it was acceptable. The was no real effort to fix the issues which required the plaster to be removed to the shell with minimal labour (one) attending to the work and no supervision. Many promises were made which were never fulfilled. Total unprofessional and I will go as far as saying they are liar's. Second attempt to rectify the problem yielded the same problems. I got another pool contractor to complete the pool which required replacement of mosaics due to damages from chipping off the plaster and complete re plaster and marbelite. Smities agreed to pay for the new marbelite as I had already paid 90% of the pool cost as per agreement. I am still waiting for this to be paid and was told they have cash flow issues.
