Very disappointing
Got them to come out and check out my garage door. Motor seemed to be working fine. They quoted me R4500 for a new motor. Another company came while they were here, I asked them to give me a 2nd opinion. All that was wrong was the programming of the motor. The other company programmed my motor and it’s working perfectly. Starck Garage Doors asked me to pay their call out fee and left.

Very disappointing

Dishonest ****** Phoned these ****** and mentioned my remote was not working on garage motor that was working. Guy came around, fitted a remote with a wire and opened and closed the door 4 times. Then said no they cant do anything i nmust fit a new Garage Door Motor. I then found out that i only needed new remotes. I even phoned up the Motor manufacturer and they confirmed. Only needed 2 new remotes

I contacted this crowd via the internet advertising as “24 Hour Garage Door Repair & Maintenance Services” or “Garage Door Repairs Door & Motor Maintenance”. They’re responsive to a call out and offer to give a quote. They arrive late, claiming traffic is a problem. They have a bakkie with decals on it and look the part. They give a quote, and then ask for a deposit of 50% of the quote. They use a speed point for payment right away. They then agree to a date and time to do the job. They give an invoice for “Starck Garage Doors (Pty) Ltd. On the day when they must appear, they call, citing unavailability of a “installer”. They call from a landline that doesn’t receive incoming calls. None of their numbers work. You speak to “Yvonne” via WhatsApp, she only sends text and voice notes”. They then make another arrangement for the next day. Then they disappear. None of their numbers work. They don’t answer the mobile phone. They’re *****sters. Stay away. Faulty product, poor unresponsive service
Installed new garage door motor. Eventually failed due to battery running flat because motor was faulty and not charging. Took two weeks to respond and supposedly fixed. Same problem happens again. Says they will attend to it but never happens. Nothing for over 10 days. Calls not answered. Whatsapp messages ignored.

*********, unreliable and rude. They installed a gate unit a couple of years ago. One of the arms started sticking so we called them in for repairs. The technician removed the motor to take for testing and repair. They then sent us a report saying the motor had stopped working completely and that our system was discontinued, and that there were no spare parts. They then gave us a quote for a new system for almost R 20 000. Our insurance company wanted their assessor to inspect the motor before they would approve a claim so we requested they return it to us. They failed to do this in spite of telling us they would. When my wife phoned to see what the problem was, she spoke to Raymond who was extremely rude and aggressive towards her. He accused us of wasting their time and petrol. Raymond seemed particularly agitated that an assessor wanted to inspect the motor arm. I wonder why? He then said he would return the motor but has still not done so. On further investigation, I see that motor arm units for our system, the Vanguard 500, have not been discontinued and are being sold all over the place. I regret ever hearing of Starck Garage Doors. Please think twice before using these people. I wish I had done more thorough research before calling them.

Excellent and quick service.
I needed my garage door automated and got a hold of Starck Garage Doors situated in Roodepoort. Yvonne was extremely helpful and professional and I got the installer out 2 days after I requested the quote. Within 10 minutes, he could assist with a quote and wanted to know if he could proceed with the installation. It was done very professionally and without any effort within an hour. It has been a month now and I am still extremely happy with my automated garage door.
