I am so disappointed, I am only posting this because they failed to resolve my issue when I was instore. I recently bought chicken meal at Steers Westville Mall and meat was off, smelling before it was cooked. Likely I opened food before going home. I returned the meal and the indian lady kept lying saying the chicken is fresh. I mean why would I return fresh food??? Anyway, she added lies with the person she was calling and said its the mild sauce that was off, they gave me hot chicken, it was still off and dark. I don't know a fresh chicken like that. I requested a refund for chicken then I would take pap and salad and she refused and said I had eaten the first chicken, I don't know who touched the chicken inside their kitchen course when I brought it, I had touched the drumstick side and couldn't eat it but when they brought it back they said I had eaten it. By the way I had to leave everything, both meal and my money....I really regret. Meat is not only smelling, it is even darker

I am appalled with the service of Steers Westville and their complaints department is even worse honestly!! I placed and order on the 11th of January 2026 I then made a complaint same day about the horrible meal I received, the time I received it and the app failing to work. I only received a response via email on the 3rd of March then today on the 9th I received call from someone who said she received my complaint today on for her to just say "yhooo I am so sorry ma'am I will give you my personal number so if you want to order you can call me" but she ended the call without giving me the details which goes to show that they don't really care they are doing things just for the sake of it.

I am absolutely disgusted with the way Steers has handled my recent complaint about food hygiene at their Westville Mall branch. Not a single person at Steers seems to take customer safety or accountability seriously. I reported that staff were handling food with their bare hands while heavily sweating over the grill, this was during a wacky Wednesday evening, something any responsible food establishment would consider completely unacceptable. Instead of addressing the problem properly, Steers Head Office hid behind a “no gloves policy” as if that excuses basic hygiene failures. Even the store manager agreed that utensils should have been used to handle the meat patties, yet nothing meaningful was done. What followed was even more pathetic: • Promised call-backs that never happened • A manager who only responded once I WhatsApped after 5pm • Zero accountability beyond “the staff got warnings” a simply "sorry" doest cut it • No refund, no compensation, no store credit — nothing And now, after escalating this to Steers Head Office again, I’ve been completely ignored. Not even the decency of a reply. Clearly, customer health means nothing to them, and food safety concerns are simply brushed aside. My daughters and I woke up with stomach discomfort after eating food handled unhygienically, and Steers’ attitude has basically been: “Not our problem.” If this is how Steers handles legitimate complaints, then the brand has seriously lost the plot. Eating at Steers is obviously a gamble, because hygiene seems optional and accountability is nonexistent. People deserve to know how Steers treats their customers when something goes wrong with silence, excuses, and zero responsibility.
