I sent my CV to one of Teleprformance’s recruiters I’d like to believe. I got an email back saying I should come for an interview and assessment, I never went. Months later I received a payslip from TP on my email address, they have done *****. They have stole my personal information, misused my personal information and they have taken my details, everything is the same but except for the bank account, they are paying someone else a salary but under my name. This will affect my tax and technically I cannot get another job because i am being paid by TP. I sent an email regarding this and got no response. I will now take further steps and involve my lawyers too.

I am extremely disappointed with the ongoing lack of urgency and professionalism from Teleperformance when it comes to processing important employee documents. I recently contacted them to request my membership number so I can claim my provident fund, and once again I am experiencing unnecessary delays. This is not the first time I’ve gone through this with them. When I needed to claim for my maternity benefits, the company delayed sending my documents, and when they eventually did, they sent them with errors. It took the company an entire month to correct their own mistake, which caused a huge delay in my claim and added stress during an already difficult time. I am asking for my membership number so I can proceed with my provident fund claim. This is a simple request that should not take this long. I need Teleperformance to treat this matter with urgency, take accountability, and improve the way they handle employee documents. These delays affect people’s lives and finances, and it’s unfair.

Teleperformance GQ in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, South Africa, underpays and overworks staff while firing tenured employees to avoid paying fair wages. Management runs on blatant favouritism and disturbing misconduct, with reports of ***ual relationships between managers and lower-ranking staff. They use constant firings to keep employees in fear. Despite holding a major Monzo Bank contract, their security systems are weak and frequently put customer data at risk. The facilities are in terrible condition and management shows no care for staff, only pushing overtime and impossible demands. This branch is unsafe for both employees and customers.

My time at Teleperformance in Gqeberha as an employee was a period of significant professional growth, though it came with a unique set of challenges. While every role has its ups and downs, this experience was particularly defined by dysfunctional communication and an unsustainable work culture. I rarely write reviews, but my experience there was so disheartening that I feel compelled to warn others. From the moment I joined, it was clear that this workplace thrives on dysfunction rather than collaboration but because of scarcity of jobs in Gqeberha people stay and endure working conditions people shouldn't have to. Some of the issues that people face while working for this company: 1. Toxic Work Culture: Management operates with a top-down, fear-based approach that would threaten the safety of your job when challenged. Constructive feedback was discouraged, and favoritism ran rampant. There was a clear double standard in how employees were treated. Those with close relationships to management operated with complete freedom—acting however and whenever they pleased, without facing any consequences. Meanwhile, the rest of us were held to strict behavioral expectations at all times, knowing that even minor missteps could result in disciplinary action. 2. Lack of Communication and Support: Management was often unresponsive, and feedback was either ignored or met with defensiveness. There was little transparency around decision-making, which created a culture of confusion and mistrust. 3. Low and Short Pay: Agents were (and still are) expected to work long hours, often covering multiple roles, yet the compensation was shockingly low. The pay was barely enough to cover basic expenses, and incentives were either misleading or impossible to achieve. Overtime was expected but rarely rewarded and when you submitted a pay query request you would have to wait for months on end before you get your money and that would be after you've exhausted all the "available" channels. 4. Poor Facility Conditions: The physical building was neglected—leaky ceilings, broken kitchen taps and lifts that were not in good conditions, and unsanitary restrooms were the norm. Basic amenities like heating, cooling, and clean communal areas were either malfunctioning or nonexistent. 5. Toxic Metrics-Driven Culture: Every second was monitored, every word scrutinized. Breaks were timed to the minute, and the pressure to meet call quotas created a high-stress, low-trust environment. Management cared more about numbers than people.

I recently attended an online interview for an Operations Assistant Manager role. The interview was initially scheduled for 10 a.m., then rescheduled to 12 p.m. On the day, I met with two Operations Managers and the Department Manager, and answered a range of questions — some relevant, others not so much. I bring almost nine years of BPO experience and nine years of managerial expertise in leading teams within BPO and customer service. After the interview, I sent a follow-up email but received no response. Two weeks later, I followed up again and still heard nothing — no update, no feedback, not even a courtesy decline. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I’ve encountered such poor recruitment practices with this organisation. In a previous instance, I attended an interview for another role, only to sit for nearly four hours before being told they weren’t interviewing for that position. I was given an email address to follow up — which I did — but once again, there was no response. This level of disregard for candidates’ time and effort is disappointing and unprofessional. Clear communication costs nothing, but says everything about a company’s values.

They didn't pay their new hires for completing training due to some "error in TP's side" and have been given the run around since last Friday, yesterday they made plans to get them to work to secure productivity for the company and client while the employees have to go to work with no food, no money, just as long their behinds are secure.
