Long story short: Hussar grill is owned by Spur. Rather go to Spur.
Long story long: I ordered Babylonstoren Babel wine which on their menu is advertised as rosé. I double checked on Babylonstoren website, it is in fact a red wine.
Starters: dead average. Chorizo was nice but the calamari is cooked in the same sweet sauce. It’s a no-no combo.
The mains: Yoh! This is where it really stared to go downhill for us. They have such a specific menu when it comes to how you like your meat, how pink it is etc. whatever you order please bare in mind it will come 2 times more raw. Eg, I ordered a medium/well done steak and it was medium rare. My partner ordered medium rare, it was blue (basically raw)
Finally nearing the end of my wine, I saw creatures (alive and some dead) in my wine glass. Finally we called the manager. He gave us complimentary “double choc martinis”. Hahaha it was warmed up chocolate sauce in mini glasses. Shame he tried.
All in all my partner said the best part of the whole meal was the mashed potatoes.
I’d recommend going to spur and saving at least R100 per person for the same thing, i’d argue - even better than Hussar.
